Chapter 930: Ruler of Esports 44
After throwing Fan Tong a few meaningful looks, the others waved casually and left, leaving just him and Tang Wan behind. He took her hand without hesitation and led her toward the nearby park. The gesture felt completely natural—so natural that even he found it a little strange. They hadn’t spent that long together, yet holding her like this gave him the quiet sense of familiarity of an old couple. Perhaps it was because Tang Wan was so easy to be around—gentle, straightforward, and never demanding—so being with her didn’t require effort at all. It simply felt comfortable.
They found a bench and sat down, and after a moment, Fan Tong turned to her with a soft smile. “Wanwan, have you thought about what major you want to apply for?” Tang Wan answered almost instantly, “I’ll choose whatever you’re studying.” His smile deepened at that, but he deliberately added, “My major has pretty high requirements.” Without missing a beat, she replied, “It’s fine. I’ll definitely pass.” Hearing her confidence, he chuckled lightly and asked, “That confident?” Tang Wan nodded and said seriously, “Of course. I’ve been working really hard just so I can go to the same university as you.”
The words sounded sincere, even though they were not entirely true. Aside from attending school during the day, most of her time was spent resting or gaming rather than studying intensely. Still, Fan Tong didn’t know that, and her answer moved him more than he expected. At the same time, a flicker of concern crossed his mind—what if she didn’t pass? Would she be disappointed? Even so, he chose not to say anything more and simply reassured her, “You will.” If things didn’t work out, he would find another way then.
They stayed outside until it was past nine before heading back. Just as they reached the club entrance, Fan Tong suddenly pulled her aside into the shadow of a tall bush. Before she could react, he pressed her lightly against the wall and leaned down, stopping just short of her. Tang Wan’s eyes widened in surprise as he looked at her with a faint, teasing smile. “I remember… next week is your 18th birthday, right?” She nodded softly, and he replied in a low, meaningful tone, “That’s good.” The implication was obvious—some things would be easier once she was an adult. Tang Wan immediately understood, and although she inwardly complained about his thoughts, her own weren’t exactly innocent either.
When they returned to the club, the others were still gathered in the hall playing games. The moment Tiger and the rest saw them walk in together, their expressions turned teasing. Ari grinned and said, “Captain, you’re back? We thought you wouldn’t be coming back tonight.” Fan Tong raised an eyebrow calmly, but his next words were anything but mild. He coolly pointed out Ari’s poor performance in the earlier match, noting that he had nearly been taken out by the enemy ADC and only survived because of timely support. Then, with finality, he added, “Train until eleven tonight. No sleep before that.”
Ari was instantly dumbfounded. It was obvious retaliation, yet when he looked around for backup, everyone else had already lowered their heads and focused on their screens, pretending not to hear anything. Not a single person spoke up for him. Frustrated, Ari protested, “You guys clearly think the same thing!” But Tiger didn’t even glance up. They might have agreed—but unlike him, they weren’t foolish enough to say it out loud.
