Chapter 894: Ruler of Esports 8

Fan Tong quickly recovered from his brief shock. He let out a light cough, his tone turning calm and steady as he spoke, “Hello. I’m the captain of the TG Team—Fan Tong. Your gameplay is excellent. I’d like to ask… would you be interested in joining a professional team?”

Hearing this, Tang Wan’s eyes lit up instantly. Still, she deliberately held back, her voice carrying a hint of uncertainty. “Can I?”

“Of course,” Fan Tong replied, his tone patient. “But professional play isn’t simple. Before becoming an official player, you’ll need to go through a training period so we can evaluate your potential.”

“That’s completely fine!” Tang Wan answered without hesitation, sounding genuinely excited.

Seeing her reaction, Fan Tong hesitated for a moment. But recalling her performance, he quickly made up his mind. “Alright. Take down my phone number, then add me on WeChat. You can look me up online first—there are photos of me. After that, we’ll do a video call to confirm it’s really me, so you don’t have to worry about being scammed.”

They had encountered cautious newcomers before—people who agreed at first, only to block him afterward out of suspicion. Ever since, Fan Tong had gotten into the habit of proving his identity upfront.

“Okay, I’ll add you right away!” Tang Wan replied immediately.

Not long after, Fan Tong received a friend request.

Seeing that it was her, he relaxed slightly and accepted at once. At least this way, he wouldn’t have to worry about her being snatched up by another team.

“You can cover the camera first,” he said, “then turn on the video once you’ve confirmed it’s me.”

“Alright.”

Tang Wan hadn’t expected him to be this cautious, but she followed along.

Soon, the video connected.

On the screen appeared a handsome young man with pale skin and long, narrow fox-like eyes. His gaze carried a natural sharpness, paired with an easy, confident smile. “Heart-Wrenching Egg? Hello. I’m Fan Tong.”

Seeing him in person, Tang Wan finally understood why fans called him a “fox.” Those eyes… really did have a way of pulling people in.

The next moment, she adjusted her camera and revealed herself, offering a faint smile. “Hello. I’m Tang Wan.”

Fan Tong had assumed she would be a college student at least.

Instead, the girl on the screen was still wearing a high school uniform. Her face was youthful, almost soft with lingering innocence—but her features were striking. Oval face, bright almond-shaped eyes, and a natural curve to her lips that made her smile quietly captivating.

For a brief moment, Fan Tong completely blanked out.

Tang Wan tilted her head slightly when she noticed him staring. “Hey… did your connection freeze?”

That snapped him back to reality.

“No—no, it’s fine,” he said quickly, clearing his throat. “I just didn’t expect you to still be in high school. That surprised me a little.”

Tang Wan smiled faintly. “And you’re not old?”

Fan Tong was only twenty-one this year.

He coughed lightly, clearly not expecting that comeback. “Anyway… where are you located? If you’re going to join a professional team, your family will need to agree.”

“My home is in H City,” Tang Wan replied.

Fan Tong’s eyes brightened immediately. “That’s right next to S City. I can come see you the day after tomorrow.”

As if worried she might refuse, he quickly added, “If you’re concerned, you can have your parents accompany you.”

Tang Wan’s smile deepened slightly. “No need. Just tell me when you arrive—I’ll pick you up at the station.”
