Chapter 880: The Psychic Master 44

Hearing the way He Tongyang addressed Tang Wan, the eyes of several clan elders widened instantly, round as copper bells.

Wanwan?! The old ancestor?!

A wave of shock passed through their hearts, but they quickly rejected the thought.

No, no… that couldn’t be right.

Tang Wan was clearly a living person, while the ancestor Wanwan was a ghost. How could the two possibly be the same? It had to be a coincidence—just the same name.

Watching their expressions shift between shock and forced rationalization, Tang Wan couldn’t help but curl her lips slightly, finding it rather amusing. Of course she knew exactly what they were thinking. But even if the suspicion crossed their minds, none of them dared to ask He Tongyang directly.

And He Tongyang clearly had no intention of explaining anything. After briefly introducing them, he asked calmly, “Uncles, what brings you here? Is it about this matter?”

The elders exchanged quick glances, then nodded.

“Yes,” one of them said. “Since you already have a marriage candidate, the wedding should be arranged as soon as possible.”

The moment the word wedding was mentioned, a flicker of joy appeared in He Tongyang’s eyes. He instinctively glanced at Tang Wan, careful and almost cautious.

Seeing this, Tang Wan smiled helplessly and gave him a subtle nod of agreement.

Only then did He Tongyang clear his throat lightly and say, “What you’ve said makes sense. I’ll consider the arrangements.”

“That’s good.” The elders nodded in satisfaction before turning to Tang Wan. “Then may we ask for the mistress’s birth date? We can prepare a Geng tie and choose an auspicious day for the wedding.”

Tang Wan paused briefly, then reported her actual birth date.

After all, she couldn’t possibly use the original owner’s details—those would be inconsistent at a glance.

However, what she didn’t expect was that as soon as she finished speaking, one of the elders—who was proficient in divination—began calculating. His expression changed abruptly.

“This…” he hesitated, looking at Tang Wan cautiously. “Mistress, are you certain about your birth date?”

Seeing this, He Tongyang’s expression darkened slightly. “What’s wrong? Is there a problem with Wanwan’s birth chart?”

The elder nodded slowly, his gaze still fixed on Tang Wan. “Based on these characters… the person should possess a life of wealth, but also a short lifespan. Moreover… she should already be deceased.”

Tang Wan’s expression stiffened for a brief moment.

Damn… So much for dismissing superstition—when someone actually knew what they were doing, the accuracy was unsettling.

But there was no way she could admit it.

She quickly waved it off casually. “Then it’s probably not accurate. I don’t really know my exact birth details. I just went by what’s written on my ID.”

Hearing this, the elder let out a breath of relief. “That explains it. No wonder the chart seemed inconsistent.”

He Tongyang spoke up at this point, his tone steady. “In that case, just select an auspicious date for the wedding.”

Since Tang Wan’s birth details couldn’t be confirmed, the elders had no choice but to proceed accordingly. They nodded at once. “Very well. We’ll do as you say, Patriarch.”

“Mm. I’ll leave the wedding arrangements to you,” He Tongyang said.

The He family’s wedding ceremonies followed strict traditions and grandeur—there was no need for him to worry.

“Rest assured, Patriarch,” the elders replied respectfully before taking their leave.

After they left, He Tongyang turned to Tang Wan, his gaze thoughtful. “Wanwan… the birth chart you mentioned earlier?”

Tang Wan quickly shrugged it off. “Oh, I just remembered something randomly. It felt like my own birth date, but it’s not surprising if it’s off. After all, if I hadn’t died… I wouldn’t be like this now.”

Her tone was light, as if it were nothing worth dwelling on.
