Chapter 865: The Psychic Master 29

Tang Wan shook her head immediately, her response firm and without hesitation. “Of course not. If I had been born into a family like that, I might have broken down long ago.”

Her tone softened slightly, but she didn’t let the point end there. After a brief pause, she continued, her voice more measured now. “But you also said it yourself—the He family still has many children who’ve gone through the same thing you did. They’re innocent too. You can’t just wipe out everyone along with it, can you?”

He Tongyang’s lips curved faintly, though the expression didn’t quite reach his eyes.

Because the truth was… he had thought about it.

For a family like the He family, one so deeply rooted in its own corruption, wouldn’t the only real solution be to destroy it completely? Only by tearing it out at its core could everything finally end.

Tang Wan saw that flicker in his expression and immediately caught onto his thoughts. She widened her eyes slightly, deliberately showing surprise. “Tongtong, you really considered that?” she asked. “Even if it solves everything at once, it’s still unfair to those who’ve done nothing wrong.”

He fell silent for a moment, then looked at her. “Then what do you think I should do?”

Tang Wan didn’t hesitate this time.

“I think the most important thing is to dismantle the system itself,” she said clearly. “End the practice of forcing close-relative unions, and deal with the people who insist on maintaining it. If the foundation changes, the rest will follow.”

Her words were calm, but precise.

He Tongyang lowered his gaze, thinking.

In truth, most people in the He family didn’t like that system either. Some had suffered from it directly—forced into unions they never wanted, watching children born with deformities or worse. Others lived under constant pressure, knowing they might one day be reduced to nothing more than tools for reproduction.

If the system itself could be broken…

Then perhaps there was no need to destroy everything.

After a while, he nodded slowly. “I understand.”

If total destruction wasn’t necessary, then removing the root causes—and the ones who upheld them—would be enough.

Seeing the shift in his thinking, Tang Wan let out a quiet breath of relief.

At the same time, another thought surfaced in her mind—the powerful evil spirit sealed beneath the He family’s ancestral grounds. In the original course of events, it would eventually break free on its own. And when that happened, without preparation, the consequences would be disastrous.

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

“Tongtong,” she said, her tone turning serious again, “now that you’re an adult, it’s time I taught you some forbidden techniques.”

That spirit was no ordinary entity. With what he currently knew, it would be difficult to deal with it head-on. But if he mastered something stronger… something beyond conventional methods…

Then even without outside help, he would be able to handle it.

He Tongyang didn’t question her at all. Instead, he smiled lightly and nodded. “Alright. I’ll learn it.”

There was no hesitation in his voice.

He trusted her completely.

“Good,” Tang Wan replied with satisfaction. “Tongtong is the best. You’ll definitely master it.”

As she spoke, she drifted toward the computer. Her fingers moved rapidly across the keyboard, the faint tapping sound filling the room as she typed out the technique she intended to teach him.

He Tongyang had long since grown used to her methods. Without a word, he took a seat in front of the computer and began reading through the material carefully.

Time passed quietly.

After a while, he nodded to himself. “I understand the basics. I’ll go to the training room and try it out.”

He stood up, then added casually, “If you get bored, you can keep playing your game.”

Tang Wan: …

She shot him a look.

“No,” she said immediately. “This is your first time trying it. What if something goes wrong? I’m coming with you.”

He Tongyang’s lips curved slightly at her response.

“Alright,” he said. “But stay a little further away.”

He didn’t refuse her presence.

But he couldn’t ignore the risk.

The techniques he was about to practice were highly dangerous to spiritual entities—and Tang Wan, in her current form, would be affected more than anyone else.
