Chapter 864: The Psychic Master 28
Hearing He Tongyang’s words, Old Master He didn’t hesitate at all. He nodded immediately, his tone decisive. “Alright. Do as you wish.”
To him, there was nothing worth preserving in those two anyway. They had never cared for Tongyang, and now they each had their own lives. Whether they returned or not made no difference.
Mother He muttered under her breath, “As if I care about coming back,” her voice low but sharp with resentment.
Father He, however, reacted very differently. His expression changed instantly as he stepped forward, his tone anxious. “Dad, you can tell her not to come back—but why me? The He family is my home!”
Outside, he could still live comfortably—but nowhere was as safe, as prestigious, or as convenient as the He residence. Here, influential figures visited daily. As long as he remained part of the He family, he could interact with powerful people who treated him with courtesy and respect.
That kind of status—
He couldn’t give it up.
Old Master He glanced at him coldly, his gaze sharp. “Now you remember this is your home?” he said. “Where was that thought when I told you to come back and see Tongyang?”
Father He immediately fell silent, shrinking back under the reprimand.
At that moment, He Tongyang stood up from the sofa, his posture straight, his expression calm but resolute.
“Grandpa,” he said, “please have a lawyer draft a document to sever the relationship between father and son. I don’t want anyone from the He family to act under my name in the future.”
The words fell cleanly.
Without hesitation.
Father He froze.
Mother He, on the other hand, showed a flash of unmistakable relief—almost satisfaction.
“Yangyang, even if you want to cut ties with her, why are you including me?” Father He said quickly, panic creeping into his voice. “I’m your father!”
If news of this spread, he would become a laughingstock.
But He Tongyang didn’t care in the slightest.
This decision had been in his mind for a long time. He simply hadn’t acted on it before. Now, however, he was an adult. He no longer needed to rely on anyone to survive.
So why should he continue to maintain ties with people who had never wanted him in the first place?
Old Master He spoke again, his tone steady. “You’ve grown up. You have your own judgment,” he said. “If this is what you want, then do it.”
In fact, he saw no downside.
If anything, it would free Tongyang from unnecessary distractions, allowing him to focus entirely on cultivation.
Father He stared at him in disbelief. “Dad, how can you agree to this?”
Old Master He let out a cold laugh. “Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been doing,” he said sharply. “If I find out you’ve been using Tongyang’s name outside to damage the He family’s reputation, I won’t acknowledge you as my son either.”
His voice carried a warning that couldn’t be mistaken.
After all, the greatest thing his son had ever done in life… was giving birth to Tongyang.
Not long after, the He family’s lawyer arrived.
The agreement was drafted swiftly.
Signatures were placed.
Fingerprints pressed.
When it was done, both parties took their copies and left—just like that, the relationship was severed completely.
Once everything was settled, He Tongyang turned back to Old Master He. “Grandpa, I’m going to cultivate for a while.”
“Go,” Old Master He replied, nodding.
Back in his room, the moment the door closed, Tang Wan moved closer and cupped his face gently in her hands.
“Tongtong,” she said softly, “you still have me.”
He Tongyang smiled, the tension in his expression easing. “Mm. Don’t worry—I’m not sad at all,” he said. “If anything… I feel lighter.”
And it was true.
For the first time, there was no lingering weight in his chest.
But after a moment, the smile on his lips faded slightly.
“There are still many children in the He family like me,” he said quietly. “Wanwan… I actually hate this family.”
He paused, then looked at her, his gaze steady.
“If I destroyed the He family… would you think I’m too cruel?”
