Chapter 863: The Psychic Master 27
“Who gave you the right to scold Tongtong?”
Tang Wan’s voice rang out coldly, each word carrying a sharp chill.
Both Father He and Mother He froze at the sudden female voice. Mother He, who had just been forced back onto the sofa, trembled instinctively. But the next moment, as memories of her past grievances surged up, that fear was quickly swallowed by anger.
She sat up abruptly, her eyes reddened as she looked around, her voice turning shrill with fury.
“Why wouldn’t I have the right? He’s nothing but the product of close-relative breeding—a disgusting bastard, a monster!” she spat. “And you—what kind of ridiculous ‘ancestor’ are you? Everything that’s happened to me is because of your so-called He family traditions! What right do you have to stand there and lecture me now?”
The moment those words fell, the temperature in the room seemed to drop.
He Tongyang’s expression darkened instantly.
Before he could speak, Tang Wan pressed a hand lightly against his shoulder, stopping him. Then she let out a cold laugh, her voice cutting like a blade.
“Funny. As if Tongtong begged you to give birth to him,” she said. “And tell me—did you come back this time because you suddenly remembered your son, or because something went wrong with the Wu family’s business? Didn’t you plan to take advantage of his coming-of-age ceremony, using your identity as his biological mother to get others to help you?”
Her tone grew sharper with every word.
“You claim you were forced back here—really? If the He family had truly wanted to control you, do you think you would’ve been able to marry someone else? To give birth to Wu Jingwen? Don’t try to act like a victim while benefiting from everything. At least have the decency to look at yourself clearly.”
The accusations landed one after another, precise and merciless.
Mother He’s face instantly flushed, then turned pale. She opened her mouth, but no words came out.
At the side, Father He clicked his tongue, his expression full of undisguised disdain. “Shameless,” he sneered. “Weren’t you the one who said you had nothing to do with the He family anymore? And now that your husband’s in trouble, suddenly you remember us?”
Mother He shot him a cold glare. “What does that have to do with you? And which of your eyes saw me trying to use the He family?”
But her tone lacked its earlier confidence.
Because Tang Wan had exposed the truth completely.
When the Wu family ran into trouble, she had indeed thought of using this opportunity. So many influential figures had gathered for He Tongyang’s ceremony—if she showed up as his biological mother, perhaps someone would help out of consideration for him.
That way, she wouldn’t even have to lower herself to ask.
She had calculated everything carefully.
She just hadn’t expected… to be seen through so easily.
At that moment, footsteps sounded from outside.
Old Master He entered the room, his expression already dark as he took in the scene.
“Enough!” he snapped. “If not for Tongyang’s coming-of-age ceremony today, the two of you would already be dealing with the consequences of this disgraceful behavior!”
The room fell silent immediately.
Then his gaze shifted sharply to Mother He, his voice turning even colder.
“I don’t recall inviting you back for Tongyang’s ceremony.”
The words were blunt, leaving no room for ambiguity.
After all, he knew very well—Tongyang didn’t want to see her at all.
And yet she dared to claim she had been “forced” to come?
If he truly intended to control her, would she even have the life she had now?
Under his gaze, Mother He’s expression stiffened. The earlier arrogance completely disappeared, replaced by awkwardness and unease. For a long moment, she couldn’t say a single word.
She had assumed—naturally—that such an important event would include her.
Only now did she realize…
She had never been part of the plan.
At that moment, He Tongyang finally spoke, his tone calm but utterly indifferent.
“Grandpa,” he said, “since they dislike seeing me so much… there’s no need to let them come back in the future.”
