Chapter 851: The Psychic Master 15

After brushing his teeth as quickly as possible, He Tongyang rinsed his mouth and splashed water over his face. Then, hesitating slightly, he turned toward Tang Wan, his ears faintly red.

“Wanwan… could you go out for a moment?”

Tang Wan immediately understood. Without teasing him further, she nodded. “Alright.”

She smiled lightly, then drifted out and closed the bathroom door behind her.

Left alone, He Tongyang raised a hand and patted his warm cheek, as if trying to cool the lingering embarrassment. Only then did he turn and head toward the toilet.

A few minutes later, he finished and came out, his expression composed once more. Without lingering, he went downstairs for breakfast.

Today, his father was also at home.

When he saw He Tongyang coming down, although there was little genuine affection in his expression, he still spoke perfunctorily, “Yangyang, you’re up. Come sit and eat.”

He Tongyang didn’t respond at all.

His silence immediately darkened the man’s face. He turned to Old Master He with visible displeasure. “Dad, look at him. I spoke to him yesterday, and he completely ignored me.”

Old Master He let out a cold snort. “You’ve never once held him properly since he was born. You only came back after he’d already been injured for a month, and now you’re dissatisfied because he doesn’t respond to you? Do you even have the face to complain?”

The words hit like a slap.

Father He’s expression stiffened, completely unable to respond.

Ignoring him, Old Master He turned his attention back to He Tongyang. His tone softened as he asked carefully, “Tongyang, is the ancestor still here today?”

He Tongyang glanced at Tang Wan, then nodded.

Only then did Old Master He relax.

He turned respectfully toward the empty space beside He Tongyang and said, “May I ask which ancestor you are? We can offer more incense in your honor. If there’s anything you’d like to eat, you can tell Tongyang, and I’ll have it prepared immediately.”

Hearing this, Tang Wan’s eyes lit up.

Being a ghost wasn’t all bad—but she couldn’t directly taste food. However, offerings were different. Through them, she could actually enjoy the flavors.

For a moment, she was genuinely tempted.

At the same time, He Tongyang’s thoughts stirred.

He was very familiar with the He family genealogy, yet no matter how he searched his memory, he couldn’t place Tang Wan within it.

Of course, that was likely because the records had been altered long ago. Still… if she revealed her identity herself, he would know.

Tang Wan had no intention of hiding it.

“Tell him,” she said casually, “that I’m Tang Wan—the true ancestor of the He family. That shameless brat He Cheng changed the Tang family into the He family after I died.”

He Tongyang’s brows twitched almost imperceptibly.

He Cheng…

That was the founding ancestor of the He family.

Which meant—

She was his wife.

The one recorded in the genealogy as “He Tang.”

Though the realization shocked him, He Tongyang showed no trace of it on his face. Instead, he simply looked at her and asked, as if nothing were amiss, “What would Wanwan like to eat?”

The moment she heard that, Tang Wan didn’t hold back at all.

She immediately rattled off a long list of dishes she wanted.

He Tongyang’s lips twitched slightly.

Fortunately, his memory was excellent—otherwise, there was no way he could remember all of it.

Turning to Old Master He, he began listing them one by one. “Grandpa, Wanwan wants steamed lamb, steamed bear paw, steamed deer tail, roast duck, roast chicken, roast goose, braised pork, braised duck, soy chicken, cured meat…”

The list went on and on.

Father He sat there, speechless.

Was this… some kind of traditional dish recital?

These ancestors really did have quite the appetite.
