Chapter 1804: Unlucky Heiress (72)

The lucky charm suddenly became scorching hot, nearly causing Tang Yi to throw it away.

Fortunately, she stopped herself at the last moment. Filled with confusion, she spread out her palm and stared at the stone in puzzlement. It had been perfectly fine just moments ago, so why had it suddenly become hot?

And with that glance, Tang Yi froze on the spot.

At the moment, she was alone in the dormitory. Even so, she instinctively looked toward the door. Seeing that no one had entered, she lowered her gaze back to the stone.

On its smooth, flat surface, several tiny words had appeared:

Energy insufficient.

Tang Yi couldn't help touching the stone, which was still giving off heat. It was no longer as burning hot as before, but she could still feel its warmth. She guessed that the lucky charm had sensed her intention to throw it away and had heated up to warn her.

If that was the case, then had all her wishes really been fulfilled because of the lucky charm?

No sooner had the thought crossed her mind than another line of words appeared on the charm:

Who else could it be besides me?

Tang Yi's heart skipped a beat.

Could it know what she was thinking?

Lucky Charm: Of course. We've already formed a bond. Without me, do you think you could have been adopted by the Tang couple?

Tang Yi's eyes widened. This time, she was truly certain that the lucky charm could make her wishes come true.

She tentatively asked, “When I wished to become the top student in the liberal arts stream in the college entrance exam, was it also you who made me dream about those questions the night before?”

Lucky Charm: Yes.

Receiving such a definite answer, Tang Yi felt somewhat conflicted.

So all those wishes she had fulfilled had really been thanks to the lucky charm.

Clutching it tightly, she remembered her current wish and asked, “Then why didn't you help me fulfill this wish? Aren't you a lucky charm? Shouldn't wishes come true once they're written down? It's already been several months since I made my wish. Forget winning Big Brother's heart—sometimes I don't even get to see him once a week.”

Lucky Charm: Energy insufficient.

Energy insufficient?

Tang Yi didn't ask what the price of having wishes granted was.

Perhaps she simply hadn't thought that far, or perhaps she had deliberately chosen to ignore the question. Seeing those words again reminded her that they had been the first thing she saw.

But all she could think about now was when her wish of obtaining Tang Kui's sincere affection would finally come true.

Now that the lucky charm had given her a reason, she desperately wanted to know how to solve the problem.

“Then what should I do? Is there something you need me to do?” After asking, she quickly added, “As long as it's something I can do. Don't ask me to do anything bad.”

Lucky Charm: Approach people with good fortune.

Tang Yi hesitated for several minutes before asking, “Will getting close to lucky people replenish your energy? Will it bring them any danger?”

Lucky Charm: Gain their favor.

Those words appeared once again.

It did not explain whether danger would come to the other party.

And upon seeing the reply, Tang Yi subconsciously ignored the possibility that approaching others and gaining their favor might bring them harm.

What she thought was simple.

All she had to do was gain someone's goodwill. Wasn't that just making friends? There shouldn't be any problem with that.

She stopped thinking about any possible downsides.

As long as she replenished the lucky charm's energy, her wish would come true.

After pondering for a while, Tang Yi began recalling in her mind who among the people around her had particularly good luck. She intended to seek them out and make contact with them today.
