Chapter 1793: Unlucky Heiress (61)
This time, she remembered clearly. In the dream, after she and Tang Kui got together, the price paid was the deaths of the Tang couple.
Tang Yi was jolted awake at dawn. Even after opening her eyes, the scenes from the dream continued flashing through her mind.
The horrific image of the Tang couple dying in a tragic car accident felt as though it had truly happened. Her entire body was drenched in cold sweat. Instinctively, she muttered, "How is that possible? Dreams are always the opposite."
How could Mom and Dad get into a car accident?
How could their lives have anything to do with her love?
Such a thing couldn't possibly exist. It was too unreasonable.
Her heart was still racing. When she went downstairs for breakfast and saw the Tang couple sitting there, she felt a trace of guilt.
More importantly, she realized that her first reaction upon waking had not been concern for their lives, but an instinctive rejection of the dream itself.
No matter how much they favored Tang Guo, they were still her adoptive parents.
Tang Kui had been right that day. They owed her nothing, and instead she should be grateful.
She understood that.
That was why she only wanted Tang Kui's sincere love. She could give up everything else. No matter how much the couple favored Tang Guo, she wouldn't mind.
While eating breakfast, Tang Yi subconsciously glanced toward Tang Guo's and Tang Kui's seats.
No one was there.
"Dad, Mom, where are Guoguo and Big Brother?"
Lin Yinghui smiled. "They got up before dawn. They went for their morning exercise, and before breakfast they hurried out. A'Kui is being all mysterious. I don't know what they're doing, and he won't tell me even when I ask."
Tang Yi pursed her lips gently. Beneath the table, her hand tightened around her pant leg.
By now, Tang Kui truly couldn't see her anymore, could he?
Early in the morning, he had hurriedly taken Tang Guo out, completely forgetting about her existence.
Even if he had just called out to her or informed her, she would have felt better. If he thought bringing her along was troublesome or inconvenient, she didn't have to go. Was it really so difficult just to let her know?
"In another ten days or so, the holidays will begin. Your father and I have already discussed going on vacation. Guoguo has her internship at the company, and A'Kui definitely won't have any leave," Lin Yinghui said, completely unaware that she was treating her son like free labor. "A'Kui's a young man, and he's capable. Naturally, he has to shoulder the company's responsibilities. Since neither of them is going, Xiaoyi, do you want to come with us?"
In truth, Lin Yinghui could already guess that Tang Yi probably wouldn't go.
But every time they went on vacation, she would ask.
Apart from Tang Kui, she had also asked Tang Guo before.
Tang Guo definitely wasn't going on vacation. She was busy striving to become a core member of the company before graduation.
As expected, Tang Yi shook her head. "You two should go and have fun. I won't be a thousand-watt lightbulb disturbing your romantic time. I already have plans for the holiday."
"Alright." Lin Yinghui didn't force her. "If you change your mind and want to come, just tell Mom."
"I know."
Tang Yi was still thinking about Tang Guo interning at the company during the holidays. Lowering her head, she continued eating.
Next year, she would definitely take the examination for an internship at Tang Technology Corporation.
She had to prepare thoroughly and do her best to pass.
She had already found a way to gather information about the examination.
At their university, there had been upperclassmen who, like Tang Guo, had once taken the test but failed.
One of them was a senior from her school.
When the time came, she would find a way to ask him.
