Chapter 1774: Unlucky Heiress (41)

Before the Tang family returned home, Tao Yu brought Tang Guo back to the Tang residence. Along the way, the two chatted about everything related to science fiction. Tao Yu secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he hadn't lost his mind and claimed to be interested in romance films.

From their conversation, he could clearly tell that the young girl genuinely knew a great deal about science fiction. Whether books, movies, or other related things, she was knowledgeable about all of them. With that realization, he had already begun planning how to continue getting closer to her in the future.

By the second weekend, Tao Yu directly sent Tang Guo a message.

It contained several pictures.

After sending them, he quietly waited for her to ask.

“Big Brother Tao, is this an exhibition?”

A smile appeared on Tao Yu's lips as he replied, “That's right. It's a science fiction exhibition. I have tickets. Are you free? Want to go?”

“Of course! If you come across something like this in the future, Big Brother Tao, you can't forget about me.”

“I won't.”

Because of her, he had come to love science fiction even more.

When Tang Guo went out with friends on weekends, the Tang family never interfered. Even Tang Kui didn't care much about such things. When Tang Guo was around, he doted on her, but when she went out, he never tried to restrict her.

After all, this fake younger sister who was even better than a real one was incredibly capable.

Recently, Tang Yi's gaze had made him feel somewhat uncomfortable. By the weekends, he no longer wanted to go home.

He had a premonition that Tang Yi was going to cause trouble.

He wasn't afraid.

He only hoped she would hurry up and make her move so he could reject her coldly and mercilessly.

Otherwise, continuing to avoid her might make others think that he, as her older brother, disliked her.

Though that was indeed the truth.

Meanwhile, Tang Yi still hadn't figured out how to confess.

On Tang Guo's side, however, she had reconnected with a former close friend.

As they chatted, the topic eventually turned to her finding her biological parents.

The girl's name was He Yujiao.

They had attended elementary school, middle school, and high school together.

In the eyes of many people, the two had always been close friends.

Even the original owner had believed so.

Until tragedy struck, she had never known that He Yujiao felt more jealousy toward her than friendship, despite Tang Guo never flaunting anything.

After the college entrance examinations, Tang Guo had come to this city for university. He Yujiao's results had been mediocre, and she attended an ordinary college located far away.

Although they no longer stayed in contact every day, they occasionally chatted whenever they thought of each other.

Separated by great distances, it was difficult to meet. Normally, even the best friendships would gradually fade and lose common topics.

Naturally, Tang Guo had no intention of taking the initiative to contact He Yujiao.

However, she had posted a family photo to her social account.

Everyone on her account was someone she knew.

Seeing the background and the unfamiliar members of the Tang family, He Yujiao became curious and asked who the people in the picture were.

And so the two started chatting again.

Since He Yujiao asked, Tang Guo didn't hide anything.

After all, one of the people responsible for the original owner's tragedy was none other than He Yujiao.

Those who had committed sins would have to pay them back one by one.

Forgiving old grudges had never been Tang Guo's style.

He Yujiao: So you're really a rich young lady now. Tang Guo, don't forget your good friend after becoming a wealthy heiress.

Tang Guo: How could I forget? If you come over to visit, I'll treat you well.

He Yujiao: I was only joking. You're doing so well now, and I'm really happy for you.

Tang Guo: Thank you. How have you been lately?

He Yujiao: Pretty good.

After that day, He Yujiao and Tang Guo only contacted each other occasionally.

Every time they chatted, He Yujiao always managed to make it seem as though the two of them were the very best of friends.
