Chapter 1747: Unlucky Heiress (14)

Even after moving into a new house, the Tang family had always reserved a room for Tang Guo, having it cleaned every day.

This time, they had specially redecorated it. Tang Guo was slightly stunned as she looked around at everything inside.

Tang Kui explained, "Every year on your birthday, Mom and Dad would place the gifts they'd prepared for you here. Mine are here too. When you have time, you can open them one by one. This year, we'll finally be able to celebrate your birthday with you in person."

"Come on in and take a look. If there's anything you don't like, I'll have someone replace it."

"It's beautiful. I really like it. Thank you, Brother."

"What are you thanking me for? You're my little sister. Spoiling you is only natural."

Today, the Tang villa felt somewhat different. It had been lively since early morning.

Tang Yi remembered that the night before, Lin Yinghui and Tang Yongbo had told her to wake up early because they had important news to share.

So she set an alarm and got up at eight.

After washing up and opening her bedroom door, she saw Tang Kui leading a beautiful girl downstairs.

The girl looked somewhat familiar, but Tang Yi had met many people and couldn't immediately remember where she'd seen her.

However, the moment she saw Tang Guo, a sense of unease rose in her heart, accompanied by an instinctive dislike.

"Big Brother, who is she?" Tang Yi stood at the doorway, vigilance hidden in her eyes.

Tang Kui raised his head and looked at Tang Yi with an amused smile.

Leading Tang Guo in front of her, he said, "Mom and Dad told you yesterday that something wonderful had happened to our family, didn't they?"

"Then..." Tang Yi suddenly had a guess. Could this girl be her brother's girlfriend? But she looked so young—a student. Surely her brother wouldn't like someone that young?

Seeing her expression, Tang Kui knew exactly what she was thinking, and his smile widened.

That little bitch.

If she found out this was his biological sister, what kind of expression would she make?

Actually, he wanted to see it right now.

"This is Guoguo," Tang Kui finally said. His eyes were full of affection and indulgence. "Mom and Dad must have told you about Guoguo—the little sister who was separated from us years ago. We've found her now. Isn't that wonderful news?"

Tang Yi froze in shock.

So this was the daughter her parents had never stopped longing for.

She understood clearly that if Tang Guo had never been lost, they would never have brought her home from the orphanage.

Now that the real heiress had returned, panic spread through her heart.

After all, her parents loved her only because Tang Guo had disappeared. She had merely been a substitute.

Now that the original had returned, would they still love her? Would they continue treating her well?

Would all of their affection go to Tang Guo?

And her brother…

She secretly glanced at Tang Kui.

He was the man she had liked for a very long time.

No matter how hard she had tried to get close to him in the past, Tang Kui had always treated her indifferently, as though she wasn't truly family.

Yet now, while speaking of Tang Guo, his face was full of smiles. The doting affection in his eyes toward his sister made Tang Yi's heart ache.

"Xiaoyi, what's wrong?"

Tang Kui's voice snapped her back to reality.

Tang Yi quickly forced a smile.

"So you're Guoguo, the one Mom and Dad have always talked about. It's wonderful that you've finally come home."

She tried her best to smile and walked over to Tang Guo.

"Guoguo, welcome home."

In truth, Tang Yi felt nothing but rejection, but she dared not show it.

Tang Guo merely smiled faintly.

"Thank you."

Looking at the brother and sister standing side by side, they seemed naturally harmonious.

Even though Tang Guo had grown up away from the Tang family, she lacked none of a wealthy young lady's grace and elegance.

Her demeanor wasn't inferior in the slightest to someone who had grown up in the Tang household.

Tang Yi's heart grew even more bitter.
