Chapter 1744: Unlucky Heiress (11)

"Big Sister Zhao, Brother Chen, we're truly sorry for disturbing you at a time like this, but we had no choice but to come." Lin Yinghui's face was full of apology as her gaze fell on Tang Guo.

Only then did Zhao Wen finally remember why Lin Yinghui had looked so familiar.

Though age had changed her considerably, making her difficult to recognize, she finally made the connection.

Seeing the loving look in Lin Yinghui's eyes as she gazed at Tang Guo, understanding dawned on her.

No wonder this elegantly dressed lady had kept coming to their little snack shop and frequently looked at her daughter, Guoguo.

"You…" Zhao Wen paused, then nudged Chen Xian. "Go close the door."

Chen Xian also seemed to realize something. He let out a light sigh. The part-time staff had all gone to lunch, so he closed the shop door and turned on the lights.

"Sister Lin, you've come for Guoguo, haven't you?" Zhao Wen asked directly. "Guoguo is our adopted daughter. We've never hidden that from her. Back then, we searched for her biological parents for a long time, but we never found them. So we adopted her and raised her as our own daughter."

"Sister Zhao, Brother Chen, thank you." Lin Yinghui was more anxious than anyone. Though every piece of evidence pointed to their daughter likely being the little girl she had lost years ago, she still wanted a scientific test. That would be the most convincing proof, and such matters had to be treated seriously.

"I only want to recognize my daughter. I have no intention of taking Guoguo away or depriving you of your rights as parents. Guoguo has become such an outstanding young woman thanks to both of you." Tears welled in Lin Yinghui's eyes. "So I hope you won't mind. If Guoguo really is my daughter, nothing in her life will change. She'll simply have another set of parents and an older brother to love her."

Hearing those words, both Chen Xian and Zhao Wen smiled.

They felt relieved and happy that their daughter had such loving biological parents.

Even if she returned to her original family, they would have no regrets.

"So when shall we do the test?" Chen Xian asked, turning to Tang Guo. "Guoguo, are you willing?"

Tang Guo nodded and answered softly, "No matter what the results are, Mom and Dad will always be Mom and Dad."

Those words brought comfort to Chen Xian and Zhao Wen.

Holding Tang Guo's hand, Zhao Wen said, "We don't mind. We understand Sister Lin's feelings. Let's go today. Old Chen, make arrangements with the staff and have them watch the shop."

Tang Kui had been quietly studying the girl who might be the little sister he had lost years ago.

Tang Guo glanced at him and was surprised when he smiled at her and said, "Someone this well-behaved has to be my little sister."

Tang Guo: ???

System: ???

"You brat." Tang Yongbo couldn't help but slap Tang Kui on the shoulder. "You're usually so serious. Since when did you start talking so slick? Lower your voice. Don't scare your sister away, or she might refuse to acknowledge you in the future."

Tang Kui curled his lips into a smile. "Got it, Dad. Wasn't I speaking quietly enough? From now on, I'll take good care of my little sister. I won't let anyone bully her."

Tang Yongbo felt that something was off about his son today.

Host, your brother's personality isn't usually like this.
