Chapter 1742: Unlucky Heiress (9)

This unusual behavior naturally caught Zhao Wen's attention.

Walking over to Lin Yinghui with a smile, she asked, "Is the food not to your taste? Do you think there's anything we should improve?"

"No, it's very delicious." Lin Yinghui maintained a calm smile, though inwardly she was so nervous she could barely breathe.

From her observations, that young girl was clearly the daughter of the couple who owned the snack shop.

If the girl really was her daughter, would they resent her? After all, no one would be happy to find out that the daughter they had raised for over ten years suddenly belonged to someone else.

"Then next time, remember to order less first and add more after you've eaten. The food doesn't taste as good once it gets cold," Zhao Wen kindly reminded her.

Smiling, Lin Yinghui said, "I wasn't paying attention. Everything looked so delicious that I mistakenly thought I was still as young as I used to be and ended up ordering too much."

She stopped ordering more food and slowly worked through what was already on the table.

Seeing her frowning while eating, Tang Guo guessed the food was too spicy and brought her some water to ease the heat.

The moment Lin Yinghui saw Tang Guo personally setting the glass down before her, she nearly burst into tears from excitement. Fortunately, she managed to hold back and softly said, "Thank you, young lady."

"You're welcome, Auntie. Take your time eating. If it's too spicy, next time you can ask my parents to make it milder. Too much spicy food isn't good for the stomach if you can't handle it."

"Alright, I understand."

While drinking the water, Lin Yinghui casually asked, "Young lady, are you a student at this university?"

"Yes."

"Judging from your accent, it seems your family isn't from this city?"

"That's right, we're not locals…" Tang Guo casually mentioned where she came from.

She didn't mind Lin Yinghui probing for information. In fact, she wanted their relationship to come to light sooner.

Tang Yi had enjoyed the happiness stolen from others long enough. Her good days should be coming to an end.

The thought that she had taken everything that rightfully belonged to others and enjoyed it without guilt made Tang Guo very unhappy.

When Lin Yinghui asked her name and learned what it was, she froze on the spot.

"So your surname is Tang as well? What a coincidence. My husband is also surnamed Tang."

Hidden beneath the table, Lin Yinghui clenched her hands tightly.

Could there really be such a coincidence in the world?

Her daughter was named Tang Guo, and this girl was also named Tang Guo.

She had given her daughter that name because she wished her life would be as sweet and joyful as candy—filled with happiness and smiles.

After Tang Guo went back to work, Lin Yinghui happened to glance at the signboard outside.

Chen's Snacks.

A very ordinary and simple name.

It was still afternoon, and there weren't many customers.

Most people only came after five o'clock.

The shop stayed open all day because they offered many varieties of snacks, and things like pastries and small bowls of noodles could easily serve as a meal.

Chen Xian and Zhao Wen never went anywhere else. Whenever business was slow, they either played with their phones or chatted with the new friends they'd made next door.

Before long, Lin Yinghui struck up another conversation with Zhao Wen.

While discussing the shop's name, she learned that "Chen" came from Chen Xian's surname and not Zhao Wen's.

As for anything else, she didn't dare ask further.

There couldn't be such a coincidence in the world—a daughter with a surname different from both her parents.

The more she thought about it, the more excited she became.

Now, all she could do was wait for news from Tang Yongbo.

If Tang Guo truly was her daughter, then she would have to sincerely thank this kind-hearted couple who had raised her.
