Chapter 1718: Miss Nice Girl (81)
With that mindset, Li Meixue had indeed gained quite a few benefits. What she never knew was that because of it, the original host often went hungry, shivered in the cold, and had to endure her husband's disdain.
After hearing Tang Guo's explanation, Baili Sheng turned and went into the walk-in closet.
Not long afterward, the suit he had been wearing was gone.
His clothes looked much simpler, and he had even messed up his carefully styled hair.
Now he resembled an unkempt artist. In short, one look at him and people would think he was poor.
"How about now?"
Tang Guo nodded. "Not bad. You look pretty broke. But what about the transportation? You can't possibly ride a bicycle and take me there, can you?"
"A bicycle is definitely impossible. How about I take you on an electric scooter?" Baili Sheng said seriously, as though there was absolutely nothing wrong with the idea.
"An electric scooter? Do you even have one in your garage?"
"I remember Auntie rides an electric scooter over every morning. I'll borrow hers. Then I'll give her some money and let her take the bus home."
Baili Sheng thought this was a wonderful idea. Taking his wife somewhere didn't necessarily require a car. An electric scooter was pretty good too.
Once in a while, it actually sounded interesting.
System: Suddenly, he realized that this was the ordinary life Host had always talked about. Before this, she'd been living the life of a rich madam.
"Fine. You've really got some ideas."
Having received Tang Guo's approval, Baili Sheng broke into a grin. He walked over to the dressing table and stood behind her.
Ignoring the luxurious dรฉcor and furnishings around them, their clothes looked rather ordinary. Staring at themselves in the mirror, both of them couldn't help laughing.
"Let's go, Xiaoguo."
"But if we're riding an electric scooter today, how are you going to read documents and hold meetings with your company?"
"Who says I can't hold meetings or deal with documents while riding an electric scooter? I'm only changing the vehicle, not the person."
He even transferred the documents from his briefcase into a transparent file bag.
None of them were particularly important anyway.
No matter how important anything was, it couldn't compare to his wife.
The most precious asset in his life was his wife, and he intended to hold onto her tightly.
The housekeeper was busy cleaning and preparing things in the kitchen.
When she heard Baili Sheng ask to borrow her electric scooter, her expression turned particularly strange. What was so fun about electric scooters? Sir really was an odd one.
Especially after hearing that he wanted to use it to take Tang Guo to a client's house, she found it even harder to understand.
This young couple really was energetic. Such romantic antics were things only young people would do.
After borrowing the scooter, Tang Guo climbed on with her toolbox in her arms, while Baili Sheng drove them to a residential complex.
The place was some distance away, about half an hour's ride.
More than thirty minutes later, they arrived at their destination.
As always, Baili Sheng personally escorted Tang Guo to the client's door. Only after confirming everything was fine did he head downstairs and find a quiet corner in the residential area.
He mounted his phone on a holder attached to the electric scooter and started a video meeting with the company's senior executives.
"President, where are you right now?"
Something about the surroundings seemed odd. Especially Baili Sheng's clothing—it looked somewhat unusual. Unable to suppress their curiosity, the executives asked.
"I just dropped off my Xiaoguo at a client's house. I'm downstairs in the residential complex right now."
Baili Sheng smiled, completely oblivious to anything strange.
"Any other questions?"
