Chapter 1705: Miss Nice Girl (68)
"Just looking at her annoys me. Mom, make her get out of our house and never come back."
Tang
Xiaokun shouted those words in the living room at the top of his lungs.
Li
Meixue was still hesitating when Tang Guo opened the door and looked at Tang
Xiaokun in disbelief. "Xiaokun, what are you saying? How can you say
something like that? You want to drive me out?"
"This
is my home. Mom and Dad already said everything in this house belongs to
me." Tang Xiaokun had already been thoroughly influenced by his classmates
and friends. Convinced that Tang Guo staying at home would take away what
belonged to him, he desperately wanted her gone. "Get out of my house
right now."
"I'm
Mom's daughter too. I'm going to become a wealthy madam in the future. I worked
so hard looking for a husband, and the first person I thought about was you.
You've really broken your sister's heart."
"I
don't care about any of that. Mom and Dad have already prepared everything for
me. I'll definitely make something of myself in the future, and I don't need
you thinking about me. Don't blame everything on me. You only talk about
finding a husband because you want to satisfy your own vanity and become some
rich madam. Now you haven't found anyone and you're still freeloading at home.
It's embarrassing."
"Mom,
everything I've done was for Xiaokun's sake." Tang Guo looked innocent,
with a trace of sadness on her face. "I never thought he'd see me this
way."
"Mom,
drive her out. I don't want to see her anymore. I don't want such an
embarrassing sister. Even the girls I used to get along with in class don't
play with me anymore. They're all saying our family favors sons over daughters
and treats daughters badly. I don't want a sister with such a rotten
reputation."
Seeing
that Li Meixue was still hesitating, Tang Xiaokun angrily smashed his phone
onto the floor, instantly shattering it into several pieces.
"If
you don't drive her out, then I'll leave right now and never come back!"
The
main reason Tang Xiaokun wanted to chase Tang Guo away was because he had
become the laughingstock of his classmates and friends.
In
the world of teenagers, he believed that as long as the source of trouble was
removed, everything would return to normal.
Just
as Tang Xiaokun rushed out of the house, Tang Chenghai happened to return and
stopped him.
After
learning what had happened, the couple exchanged glances and finally made up
their minds.
This
useless daughter couldn't get married and only stayed home eating and drinking
for free. She was basically ruined. Keeping her around brought no benefits
whatsoever.
So
that very day, they told Tang Guo to leave.
"Dad,
Mom, how can you drive me out? Isn't this my home?" Tang Guo still looked
somewhat hurt. "Everything I did was for Xiaokun."
"Your
granduncle was right. Young people should go out and make something of
themselves," Li Meixue said. "There's no future in this little county
town. If you go to a big city, maybe you'll meet some rich boss."
Even
now, she hadn't completely given up on using Tang Guo in the future. What if
she really did find one?
So
she deliberately avoided completely tearing things apart.
"Your
younger brother is still young. He's already in high school now. Xiaoguo, it's
not that Mom doesn't want you to stay, but your being here affects his studies.
If he doesn't do well on his exams, you wouldn't be happy as his elder sister
either, would you?"
"Is
that so?"
"That's
right. When Xiaokun finishes the college entrance examination, you can come
back. How about that?" Tang Chenghai said.
"When
Xiaokun grows up and becomes more sensible, he'll still acknowledge you as his
sister. And don't hold it against him. He's still young and doesn't
understand."
As
they spoke, the two even stuffed one thousand yuan into Tang Guo's hands. They
had no intention of severing ties completely, because who knew what might
happen in the future?
Only
after taking the thousand yuan did Tang Guo agree.
She
sneered inwardly. Leaving themselves a way out? Dream on.
The
next day, Tang Guo met Baili Sheng at the bus station and prepared to return.
After
going back, she naturally increased the number of orders she accepted and
became busy once more.
On
the weekend, she called Li Meixue.
"Mom,
I've found a job. It's at an antique company."
Li
Meixue asked about the salary, and Tang Guo told her that she had only just
started. Before becoming a full employee, she earned a little over three
thousand yuan, and after confirmation, it might increase to four or five
thousand.
Immediately,
Li Meixue lost interest. Only four or five thousand after becoming permanent?
That was far too little.
She
deeply regretted sending Tang Guo to university. She should have sent her to
work in a factory much earlier. If she worked diligently, she could earn six or
seven thousand yuan, maybe even over ten thousand.
Another
month passed, and Li Meixue received a call from Tang Guo.
On the other end came the sound of her daughter crying.
