Chapter 1665: Miss Nice Girl (28)

Tang Guo went to bed at around nine o’clock. Hu Xiaolan’s nighttime medicine delivery arrived in only twenty minutes.

She really had caught a bit of a cold that day. Her head felt heavy and groggy, and after taking the medicine, she climbed into bed and quickly fell asleep.

Not long after Hu Xiaolan drifted off, Leng Ruofei, who hadn’t stayed in the dorm for the past two days, returned.

Seeing that both Tang Guo and Hu Xiaolan had gone to sleep so early, she looked somewhat surprised.

Since people were already asleep, she moved quietly and made as little noise as possible. There had been a traffic accident on the road today. Her family usually lived in a villa halfway up a mountain on the outskirts, where the air was better. The route included a highway, and with the road blocked, there had been no way around it. She had no choice but to wait until traffic resumed, so she arrived at school late. Having lost nearly half a day to the delay, she was also somewhat tired.

After washing up, Leng Ruofei climbed into bed and prepared to sleep.

Before turning in, she glanced at Gao Lili’s bed. There was no need to guess—Gao Lili was definitely still out having fun with her boyfriend.

Knowing Gao Lili’s personality, she would certainly make a lot of noise when she returned. Even if Leng Ruofei managed to stop her, her sleep would still be disturbed. Therefore, she put on her eye mask and earplugs, intending to have a good rest.

Thus, the current situation was this: Tang Guo had taken sleeping pills and was deeply asleep; Hu Xiaolan, who had caught a cold and taken cold medicine, was also fast asleep; and finally, Leng Ruofei, who didn’t want to be disturbed, had put on earplugs and an eye mask. It could be said that none of the three had any chance of waking up halfway through the night.

Even if Tang Guo heard something, she wouldn’t get up to open the door.

The earplugs Leng Ruofei had bought completely blocked outside noise, and her eye mask shut out all light, so she could neither hear nor see anything.

As for Hu Xiaolan, people with colds tended to sleep deeply. Whether she would wake up midway depended entirely on Gao Lili’s luck.

At around eleven-thirty, Gao Lili returned to school at the last minute as usual. Reaching the dorm door, she pounded on it with loud bangs while calling Tang Guo’s name.

Naturally, Tang Guo couldn’t be woken. Gao Lili remembered Hu Xiaolan mentioning that Tang Guo had been suffering from insomnia recently and had to take sleeping pills every night just to fall asleep. Her expression changed slightly.

In the end, she called for Hu Xiaolan as well. Still, no one woke up. Left with no choice, she called Hu Xiaolan, but Hu Xiaolan had the habit of turning off her phone before sleeping because she didn’t want to be disturbed.

Now Gao Lili was beginning to panic.

She pounded on the door with all her strength, making an especially loud racket, even kicking it with her foot. Instead of waking the people inside, she woke up the girls in several neighboring dorm rooms.

A few girls came out, their expressions dark as they looked at Gao Lili. “What are you doing in the middle of the night?”

“I… I can’t get into the dorm. I forgot my key. They probably just don’t want to open the door for me.”

Naturally, Gao Lili wasn’t about to admit that she never brought her key.

Anyway, if her roommates refused to open the door, then it was their fault.

They clearly knew she came back at this hour, and Hu Xiaolan in particular knew she hadn’t brought her key. Why couldn’t they have waited until she got back before going to sleep?

Looking pitiful and wronged, Gao Lili easily won the sympathy of the girls from the neighboring dorms.

No matter what, they all thought that refusing to open the door made the people inside the ones at fault.

“Then call them again. Did you have a fight?”

Gao Lili spoke softly, “Maybe they’re unhappy that I didn’t bring my key and came back so late. After all, coming back this late really does disturb their sleep.”
