Gao Lili's living habits were completely different from Hu Xiaolan's.

Normally, though, Gao Lili's habits didn't affect Hu Xiaolan, and Hu Xiaolan wasn't the kind of person who kindly pointed out other people's hygiene problems.

In most situations, when she noticed something wrong, she wouldn't helpfully mention it. Instead, she'd quietly watch and let the other person continue getting worse.

Only when it affected her personally would she jump up and make a fuss.

For example, Gao Lili using Tang Guo's bucket and basin.

The original host had previously mentioned a few times that Gao Lili shouldn't use her bucket to soak those things for two or three days without washing them.

Gao Lili would always smile and say she'd forgotten, then add that she'd wash the bucket afterward.

Hu Xiaolan would also help smooth things over, saying that since Gao Lili cleaned it afterward, there was no need to be so particular when everyone lived in the same dormitory.

If it had been her own bucket, she probably would have started fighting with Gao Lili long ago.

Tang Guo quickly finished washing up and climbed into bed. She drew the bed curtains shut, isolating herself from the strange odors outside.

“This Lili, honestly. Her underwear's been soaking all day and she still hasn't washed it. She's so unhygienic.”

Hearing Hu Xiaolan's complaints outside, Tang Guo's lips curved upward slightly.

You can't stand it already?

The really unbearable parts are yet to come.

After all, Gao Lili and Hu Xiaolan were supposed to be the closest.

Hu Xiaolan muttered to herself for quite a while before walking over to Tang Guo.

“Tang Guo, your bucket's been occupied by Lili again. She's soaking shoes and socks in it. I think it's been two days already, and she still hasn't washed them. You should say something when she comes back. They've been soaking so long, who knows how much bacteria have grown? If she doesn't use disinfectant, can they even be worn after washing?”

Tang Guo poked her head out and said, “Maybe she's just busy. When she gets back, I'll talk to her.”

Satisfied with the answer, Hu Xiaolan nodded. “Exactly. Her living habits are terrible. She's always using your buckets and basins. You're really too good-tempered.”

“We're all roommates. It doesn't matter if she uses them,” Tang Guo replied.

Inside, Hu Xiaolan cursed her for being an idiot.

With her goal accomplished, she climbed into bed.

Asking someone else to offend people for her? She would never do such a thing herself.

Only an idiot like Tang Guo would do such thankless work.

Tang Guo lowered her bed curtains again.

Talk to Gao Lili?

Forget it.

She couldn't be bothered helping someone else's daughter learn proper hygiene. And if Hu Xiaolan wanted to use her, she was dreaming.

As for why she'd agreed—

There were plenty of people in this world who promised things sincerely and then never uttered a word afterward.

Everyone was an adult. Some things only needed to go in one ear and out the other.

As for whether she'd actually say anything tomorrow?

After a night's sleep, she'd probably forget all about it. What would there be to remember?

“Lately, I've been having trouble sleeping,” Tang Guo said.

Hu Xiaolan was surprised. “Is it because Gao Lili's been chatting on the phone with her boyfriend until two or three in the morning these past few days? Did she disturb you?”

“No. I happened to see a doctor today.”

“What did the doctor say?” Hu Xiaolan wasn't actually concerned about Tang Guo. She was just curious.

Tang Guo sighed faintly. “The doctor said I have mild neurasthenia. I told him I can never fall asleep. I toss and turn every night and don't manage to sleep until three or four in the morning.”

“I see. Is it because Gao Lili's been disturbing you?”
