Hu Xiaolan hadn't gained any advantage and had even suffered a silent loss. She no longer wanted to say anything to Tang Guo.

She wasn't the type to tear apart relationships over every little thing, but her tone was far from pleasant.

As she turned around, she still reminded Tang Guo, “Don't listen to music with earphones on and the volume turned up so high in the future. It's bad for your ears.”

If it had been the original owner, hearing that Hu Xiaolan not only didn't blame her for not opening the door but was actually concerned about her hearing, she would definitely have felt touched and guilty.

She might even have taken out the snacks from her cabinet and shared them with Hu Xiaolan.

“Okay. I only listened for a little while, so it shouldn't affect me too much.” Tang Guo answered naturally, as if she hadn't noticed Hu Xiaolan's bad tone at all. She even added thoughtfully, “Hu Xiaolan, if you forget your keys next time and can't get in, you can ask the dorm supervisor for the spare key.”

Hu Xiaolan: “…”

Forget her keys? Had she forgotten her keys?

Tang Guo was really annoying. She insisted on listening to music with earphones and had the volume turned up so loudly.

“Fine, I know,” Hu Xiaolan replied irritably before climbing back onto her bed and pulling out her phone.

Tang Guo paid her no mind. She glanced toward the door and checked the time on her phone.

It was almost one o'clock. The other roommates would be coming back soon.

The only ones who hadn't returned yet were Gao Lili and Leng Ruofei.

Leng Ruofei treated everyone with indifference. As long as others didn't trouble her, she wouldn't trouble them either.

Things like forgetting her keys and pounding on the door would never happen with Leng Ruofei.

Gao Lili, however, was different.

If Hu Xiaolan carried her keys but pretended she didn't and liked making people open the door for her, then Gao Lili simply couldn't be bothered to carry keys at all. Since the original owner always came back before them, she could just wake her up and have her open the door.

During the previous semester, the original owner had practically opened the door for them every day.

Using the excuse of listening to music again and refusing to open the door for Gao Lili would be too obvious.

So Tang Guo folded up the bed curtains, climbed down, washed her face, and casually applied some skincare products. After putting on her shoes and socks, she slung her small bag over her shoulder and prepared to leave.

“Tang Guo, are you going out?” Hu Xiaolan asked.

Outside almost every university there were always a few food streets.

The schedules in the first and second years of college were relatively relaxed, with plenty of free time.

Seeing Tang Guo dressed and ready, Hu Xiaolan assumed she was going out and immediately thought of asking her to bring food back.

“When you come back later, bring me a serving of spicy and sour fried potatoes. From Li Ji's stall, the one opposite the roasted duck leg stand.” Hu Xiaolan poked her head out. “Extra bird's-eye chili and vinegar, and no scallions.”

Tang Guo raised her head. A warm smile appeared on her fair face.

“I'm not going out.”

Hu Xiaolan froze. “Not going out? Then where are you going?”

“To the library to look up some information.”

“After that, are you going out?” Hu Xiaolan asked unwillingly.

Tang Guo shook her head. “No. I have a class this afternoon, so I'll head straight there after the library.” She lifted the books in her hand. “Look, I brought all my textbooks with me. That way I won't have to come back again. It saves both time and effort.”

Seeing that Tang Guo was serious, Hu Xiaolan's expression darkened, but she said nothing more.

Tang Guo's reasoning was too solid.

Hu Xiaolan still cared about appearances and didn't want to blatantly say, “Go out and buy me some spicy and sour fried potatoes.” If word got around, everyone would know she was in the wrong.
