The System could already feel Host's fists itching to move.

Tang Guo raised her head and glanced toward the door, showing absolutely no intention of getting out of bed.

Instead, she picked up a pair of earphones from the side, stuffed them into her ears, connected them to her phone, and turned the music up.

Then she lay down again and drew all the bed curtains closed.

“Didn't hear anything. I'm listening to music,” Tang Guo said indifferently.

System: Host, you're amazing.

Actually, the reason her roommates no longer bothered carrying keys was because the original owner had spoiled them.

And it wasn't even certain that they had forgotten their keys.

Even when they had them, they would still bang on the door and order someone else to open it.

“Hu Xiaolan brought her keys. I saw her rummaging through her bag during class earlier, and I caught sight of them. Carrying keys when she goes out is a habit. There's no way she forgot.” Tang Guo explained to the System. “She's just too lazy to take them out. After all, she has someone to boss around.”

System: That's excessive.

“Tang Guo! Are you there? Open the door!”

Hu Xiaolan pounded hard on the door, making so much noise that people from the neighboring dormitory came out and asked her to keep it down.

Hu Xiaolan's expression darkened.

At this hour, Tang Guo should have already returned from lunch and be taking her afternoon nap.

How could no one be there?

She banged twice more with all her strength, but there was still no response.

Left with no choice, Hu Xiaolan dug into her bag for her keys while complaining, “Where the hell did she run off to in the middle of the day? Why isn't she staying in the dorm like she should?”

After opening the door, she stormed into the room and slammed it shut with a loud bang.

Climbing onto her bed, she suddenly sensed something wrong.

Her bed faced Tang Guo's.

Tang Guo's curtains weren't blackout curtains. They were translucent blue, and Hu Xiaolan could vaguely make out Tang Guo lying inside.

Her anger instantly flared.

“Tang Guo! You were in the dorm all along! Why didn't you open the door for me earlier?”

Tang Guo: Can't hear you. Can't hear you.

Hu Xiaolan was unwilling to let it go.

She was already furious that Tang Guo hadn't opened the door.

Then she had been scolded by the people next door, making her even angrier.

And now she discovered that Tang Guo had been in the dorm the entire time and couldn't even be bothered to climb down and open the door for her.

She was about to explode.

Swiftly jumping down, she walked over to Tang Guo's bed and smacked her pillow hard.

“Tang Guo!”

Only then did Tang Guo seem to notice something and turned her head to glance at Hu Xiaolan.

“Why didn't you open the door for me?”

Unable to hold back any longer, Hu Xiaolan launched into a long string of complaints. By the time Tang Guo removed her earphones, Hu Xiaolan was nearly fainting from rage.

“What did you say?” Tang Guo asked with a puzzled look. “Is it really hot today? Why are you so angry? Hu Xiaolan, where are the others? Why didn't they come back with you?”

Hu Xiaolan gritted her teeth. “I knocked for so long just now. Why didn't you come open the door?”

“I didn't hear you.” Tang Guo waved the earphones in her hand. “The music was a little loud, and I fell asleep listening to it. But you seem to have gotten in. Since no one else came back, how did you get in?”

Tang Guo sat up and looked suspiciously at the door.

“You didn't kick the door down, did you?”

Hu Xiaolan was left speechless.

There was no way she could admit she had brought her keys.

“In the future, don't wear earphones and turn the volume up so high.”

Tang Guo shot her a glance. “Why?”

Hu Xiaolan was about to die of anger.

This blockhead!

If the volume was that loud, of course she wouldn't hear someone knocking.

“The volume's too high. It's bad for your ears.” Hu Xiaolan pursed her lips, seething inside. “I'm doing this for your own good.”
