Chapter 1622: Rubik's Cube Beauty (84)

When Xie Yun saw that the person standing outside the door was Zhai Chenming, he was surprised. “It’s you. What’s the matter?”

“I want to talk to you. Can we go inside?”

“Sure, come in.”

Xie Yun had never imagined that he would be the person Zhai Chenming chose to strike against.

After all, what Tang Guo had told him had already left a strong impression.

And because he had previously noticed that Zhai Chenming had been unhappy over the slight care he had shown Yi Yingxue, he assumed that Zhai Chenming had come to talk about her. Most likely, he was here to warn him not to get close to Yi Yingxue.

Shaking his head, he turned and walked inside. Perhaps because he considered himself the lord of the Rubik’s Cube World and believed no one could harm him, he exposed his back without any guard.

At that instant, Zhai Chenming drew the dagger and thrust it upward toward Xie Yun’s heart from behind.

“A-Ming, what are you doing?”

Yi Yingxue cried out in alarm. She had never expected to come upon the sight of Zhai Chenming trying to kill Xie Yun the moment she arrived.

Zhai Chenming’s hand paused for only a moment, with no intention of stopping.

Yi Yingxue rushed forward, but it was already too late.

Xie Yun himself had yet to react. He had already felt a chill rising within him—the aura of death.

With a grim expression, Zhai Chenming said, “As long as I kill him, we’ll be able to get out, Xue’er.”

“You’ve gone mad!”

Yi Yingxue ran as fast as she could, but how could she be faster than Zhai Chenming?

Everyone thought Zhai Chenming would succeed, including Xie Yun.

It wasn’t that he refused to move. In that instant, he seemed to be locked in place by some mysterious force, completely unable to budge.

A bitter smile tugged at his lips. Damn it, who would have thought that brat Zhai Chenming would come after him? He had been careless, truly careless.

It was over now. If he died, the Rubik’s Cube World would collapse in an instant.

Everyone… I’m really sorry.

“I told you long ago, never to casually expose your back to others. Even if you have no enemies, nothing is ever absolute.”

In the blink of an eye, Tang Guo’s voice rang out.

Zhai Chenming also realized that the dagger in his hand could no longer move forward even an inch.

Looking down, he discovered that a slender jade-like hand had caught the blade between two fingers.

The dagger, which had previously gleamed with a cold light, had somehow become dull and lifeless, as though it were an unsharpened blunt knife.

Unwilling to accept it, Zhai Chenming tried to pull the dagger back, but Tang Guo raised her leg and kicked him squarely in the knee.

The dagger had already fallen into her hand. Holding it in her left hand, she felt it trembling violently.

Before Zhai Chenming could react, the carved wooden folding fan in her right hand flickered before his eyes. He only saw it sway briefly, and then a sharp pain exploded in both arms.

Looking down, he discovered that both of his hands had been cleanly severed by Tang Guo using the wooden folding fan.

“Zhai Chenming, you attacked Xie Yun, the Lord of Mirror City. Considering that you were bewitched by an evil spirit, your punishment today shall be the permanent loss of both hands.”

System: That excuse is damn brilliant. It’s even harder to bear than taking his life.

Zhai Chenming stared with wide eyes, unable to believe it. Tang Guo knew?

When he called for the mysterious man, he discovered that he had no way of reaching him.

At last, his gaze settled on the dagger, which was still trembling incessantly. Vaguely, understanding dawned on him.

The mysterious man was inside this dagger.

“A-Ming, how are you?”

Seeing that both of Zhai Chenming’s hands had been severed, Yi Yingxue’s heart ached terribly.
