Chapter 1595: Rubik's Cube Beauty (57)

The moment Piao Miao Fairy stepped into Mirage City, she found herself back in her own sect.

She saw her junior sisters being bullied by other sects after their master had ascended and after her own mysterious disappearance.

Her eyes immediately reddened.

One of her junior sisters staggered before her, grievously injured. After uttering a few words, she collapsed and stopped breathing.

Enraged, Piao Miao Fairy drew her sword, ready to rush out and slaughter the opposing sect to the last person.

Just then, a flash of clarity passed through her mind.

How had she returned?

How had she gotten back to the sect?

Why was that part of her memory missing?

Right.

She should still be in the Rubik's Cube World.

She was supposed to be entering Mirage City.

That was it!

She and Silver Ring Taoist had agreed that whenever they became emotional, they must first think about how they had left the Rubik's Cube World.

If they couldn't remember, then they were inside an illusion.

They absolutely must not act impulsively and deepen the cracks in their hearts, or they would place themselves in danger.

Slowly, Piao Miao Fairy lowered her sword.

The red in her eyes gradually faded.

Looking down, she discovered she was wearing a gorgeous robe woven from Heavenly Silkworm Silk.

She burst into laughter.

"For the sake of saving Rubik Coins to draw a key, I've been living frugally for ages. I haven't bought any pretty dresses in forever."

"How could I possibly wear such impractical Heavenly Silkworm Silk robes?"

"One fight and they'd be torn to shreds."

"What a waste."

"Fake."

Meanwhile, Silver Ring Taoist encountered a similar scene.

The instant he entered Mirage City, he returned to the past.

His illusion was even more dangerous.

Because he had returned to the day of his Dao Companion Ceremony with his junior sister.

Both of them were dressed in red wedding robes, standing atop a high platform, about to swear eternal vows.

"Senior Brother."

Hearing his junior sister's affectionate voice, Silver Ring Taoist froze for a moment.

"Junior Sister."

"Senior Brother, today we become Dao companions. Will you treat me well forever and never betray me?"

"Of course I will."

Without hesitation, he answered.

He had always loved his junior sister.

Ever since arriving in the Rubik's Cube World, all he thought about every day was returning to see her.

He risked his life and frantically accumulated Rubik Coins for that single purpose.

He only wished to see whether she had waited for him.

Or whether she could wait no longer.

If she had waited, then fate between them remained unfinished.

He would owe her an explanation and spend his life treating her well, never betraying or hurting her.

If she had moved on, he wouldn't blame her.

After all, he had disappeared for so long.

She had probably believed him dead.

If she had found someone better and lived happily, then he would quietly disappear and never disturb her, lest he bring needless troubles.

Perhaps without any attachments left, he would simply remain in the Rubik's Cube World forever.

Or perhaps ascend to the Immortal Realm.

Wait.

How had he returned?

"Senior Brother," his junior sister suddenly spoke, "you made me wait so long. I suffered so much. I don't trust you anymore."

Her voice entered his ears.

He raised his head, his gaze becoming clearer.

"What does Junior Sister want?"

"Senior Brother, if you truly care about me, then prove it."

She handed him a dagger.

"Stab yourself in the heart with this, and I'll believe you."

Though she remained as beautiful as ever, and her voice as gentle as before, her words were vicious.

Silver Ring Taoist gazed deeply at her.

Suddenly, he burst out laughing.

"Even if Junior Sister blamed me and resented me, she would never use such methods to test me."

"What a pity."

"This is only an illusion."

"You are not my Junior Sister."

"Break."

The world around him shattered instantly.
