The room Tang Guo had rented at the inn wasn't large.

After all, the original owner's intention had been to get close to ordinary people like Zhai Chenming and the others, to see whether the feelings between two people could withstand the trials of the Rubik's Cube World.

If she had booked a luxurious room from the beginning, it would have aroused suspicion.

Thus, the room's bed was small and delicate. Although two people could fit on it, it would be rather cramped.

“I only said that because it would attract less suspicion,” Gong Wei quickly added after glancing around the tiny room.

Tang Guo turned around. “No need to explain. You said it, so you're responsible.”

Responsible?

Gong Wei pondered those two words and looked at the woman before him.

If he really had to take responsibility, it wasn't impossible.

Deep down, he didn't reject the idea. In fact, he vaguely felt that claiming they were in that kind of relationship had indeed been his mistake.

“Fine,” Gong Wei answered, looking completely resigned to whatever she decided.

The system, silently watching, nearly died of laughter.

This fellow had definitely misunderstood something.

Tang Guo nodded.

“Since you agreed, then this bed is mine.”

She pointed to the small bed behind her.

Under Gong Wei's puzzled gaze, she waved her hand.

“As for where you sleep, anywhere is fine.”

“Except the bed.”

Meeting his eyes, she emphasized it again.

Only then did Gong Wei realize that he had misunderstood.

Apparently, the responsibility he imagined was different from the responsibility she meant.

He had even mentally prepared himself.

Who knew things would turn out differently?

The strange part was—

why did he feel a little disappointed?

“Then I'll sleep on the floor.”

Tang Guo smiled and went into the bathroom.

Standing awkwardly in the room, Gong Wei felt somewhat uncomfortable, especially as the sound of splashing water echoed from within.

The woman inside was clearly no ordinary person, yet she insisted on mingling with those outsiders.

Not only that, she slept and even bathed.

When Tang Guo finally emerged in a fresh nightgown, Gong Wei glanced at her before quickly averting his eyes.

He had seen her before.

She had always been beautiful, but he had never found her especially captivating.

Yet today was different.

His gaze kept straying toward her.

Now that they were sharing a room, he even felt somewhat nervous.

Tang Guo had already climbed into bed. Lying on her side, she looked at the uncertain Gong Wei.

“Aren't you going to wash up before sleeping?”

“No.”

Waving his hand, Gong Wei used a bit of magic.

Instantly, a blanket and pillow appeared on the floor.

After glancing at Tang Guo's nightgown, he snapped his fingers.

His clothes immediately transformed into a set of sleepwear that, coincidentally, matched hers rather well.

Then he lay down.

By chance, he chose a spot right beside the bed.

With her lying on her side, Tang Guo could easily see Gong Wei lying flat and perfectly still.

“You've been wondering why I'm staying with those ordinary people?”

Turning his head, Gong Wei asked, “Why?”

“Because I've foreseen that one of them will bring disaster upon our Rubik's Cube World. If it isn't handled properly, the entire world could be destroyed by that person.”

“Something that serious?”

Gong Wei immediately became solemn.

“That really is a grave matter.”

“Then why not just arrest all of them? How about when they arrive at Sin City? I'll have my men arrest them and execute them all.”
