Chapter 1158: Ruthless CEO 48
Fu Yunshan’s mind went completely blank.
The evidence scattered across the floor, Li Shuangtong’s calm statements, Tang Wan’s sharp questioning, and Tang Ci’s panicked denial—all of it collided in his head until everything he believed for years began to crack.
For the first time, he couldn’t be certain of anything.
Not Tang Wan.
Not Tang Ci.
Not even himself.
Tang Ci was still shaking her head desperately, tears streaming down her face. “Brother Yunshan, listen to me! I didn’t do it! I was forced! I really didn’t want to—!”
She reached out toward him, her voice breaking with urgency.
But Fu Yunshan did not step forward.
He didn’t even flinch.
His gaze toward her had changed completely. The instinctive protection he once had was gone, replaced by something heavier—uncertainty.
Li Shuangtong stood calmly beside Tang Wan, watching everything unfold without the slightest disturbance. Then he spoke, his tone indifferent yet precise.
“Whether she was forced or not,” he said lightly, “you are free to continue lying to yourself.”
He placed a stack of documents on the table.
“These are her online records, search history, and IP traces over the years.”
A brief pause.
“Every one of them leads to the same conclusion—she planned it herself.”
The room fell silent.
Tang Father’s expression stiffened. Tang Mother’s lips parted slightly but no words came out. The image of the “innocent and fragile daughter” they had defended for years was beginning to collapse in real time.
Fu Yunshan stared at the documents, his jaw tightening.
“No…” he said slowly. “That’s not possible…”
But even he could hear how weak his voice sounded.
Because somewhere deep inside, doubt had already taken root.
Tang Wan finally spoke. Her tone was calm, but every word landed precisely.
“You insisted for years that I harmed her,” she said, looking at Fu Yunshan. “Did you ever actually investigate the truth?”
A faint, almost mocking smile appeared on her lips.
“Or did you just believe what was convenient?”
Fu Yunshan’s hands clenched.
He wanted to argue. He wanted to deny it.
But he couldn’t produce a single solid counterpoint.
Silence pressed down on him.
Tang Ci suddenly panicked and grabbed his sleeve tightly. “Brother Yunshan! You said you would protect me no matter what! You said you loved me!”
Her voice rose, trembling and sharp.
“You can’t believe them! You can’t—!”
Fu Yunshan slowly turned to look at her.
This time, there was no warmth in his eyes.
Only exhaustion.
And doubt so deep it no longer had direction.
