Chapter 1157: Ruthless CEO 47
Fu Yunshan’s expression darkened instantly. The scattered photos on the floor looked like a brutal slap to his face, each image tearing apart the last thread of his justification.
Tang Ci was still frantically crouched down, grabbing the photos with shaking hands. Her voice broke as she tried to stop everyone from looking. “Don’t… don’t look at them!”
But it was already too late.
Tang Father’s face had turned stiff. Tang Mother stood frozen, unable to speak. The “perfect daughter” image they had maintained for years was collapsing in front of them without warning.
Fu Yunshan clenched his jaw. Even though he had already heard fragments of Tang Ci’s past, he had always chosen to ignore them. He preferred the version of her in his memory.
Now, reality had forced its way in.
Li Shuangtong stood calmly at Tang Wan’s side, his posture relaxed, almost indifferent. But his words carried a precise, cutting edge.
“Mr. Fu,” he said lightly, “it seems your definition of ‘clean’ is quite flexible.”
His gaze dropped briefly to the photos, then returned to Fu Yunshan.
“Unfortunately, I only trust evidence.”
Tang Wan didn’t even glance at the chaos on the floor. Instead, she leaned slightly toward Li Shuangtong, completely unconcerned, as if the entire scene had nothing to do with her.
That contrast alone made Fu Yunshan’s irritation spike.
He finally looked at Li Shuangtong directly. “You investigated her?”
Li Shuangtong gave a faint smile. “Not necessary.”
A pause.
“I simply don’t slander people without facts—unlike some others.”
The implication was sharp enough to sting.
Fu Yunshan’s face tightened.
Before he could respond, Tang Ci had already stood up again, clutching the photos behind her back, her face pale and panicked.
“This is all fake!” she said desperately. “Brother Yunshan, you have to believe me—someone is framing me!”
But the room had already changed.
Tang Father no longer looked at her the same way. Tang Mother avoided her eyes. Even Fu Yunshan’s expression had shifted subtly.
Not belief.
Not comfort.
But hesitation.
And that hesitation… was enough to crack everything.
