Chapter 1140: Ruthless CEO 30

“That only means they lack vision,” Li Shuangtong said matter-of-factly. “Remember, you’re the only woman I’ve ever met who can keep up with my thinking. That alone proves you’re better than most people.”

Tang Wan: …

Complimenting her was fine, but did he really need to include himself in every sentence? This self-confidence was a little too much.

Of course, she didn’t say it out loud. Instead, she nodded with a touched expression. “Thank you, Tongtong. You really helped me regain my confidence.”

Li Shuangtong’s eyes softened slightly. “So, what’s your answer? You’re not the type to hesitate, are you?”

Tang Wan curved her lips. “Of course not. You understand me so well and think so highly of me—if I still refused you, it would mean my brain isn’t working properly.”

Only then did Li Shuangtong feel completely at ease.

Even he, usually calm and composed, was aware this was the first time in his 29 years he had ever taken initiative like this.

And it had actually worked.

A faint smile appeared on his face as he gently pulled her into his arms.

The car’s privacy partition was already raised, and the driver couldn’t see or hear anything happening inside. That gave Li Shuangtong enough confidence to act without restraint.

Fifteen minutes later, a knock came from the front.

“Mr. Li, we’ve arrived at Blue Whale Bay.”

“Got it,” Li Shuangtong replied in a rare good mood.

He turned to look at Tang Wan beside him—her cheeks slightly flushed—and his gaze deepened.

Then he naturally took her hand as they got out of the car.

The driver, holding the umbrella, nearly lost his grip.

What the hell did he just see?

Mr. Li… holding a woman’s hand?

And not just that—he was even walking with her so close, almost protectively.

He suddenly remembered all the previous signs he had ignored. The private elevator. The special arrangements. The house next door.

It wasn’t professionalism.

It was favoritism.

And very obvious favoritism at that.

The driver silently wiped rainwater off his face and chose absolute silence as survival strategy.

Meanwhile, Li Shuangtong walked with Tang Wan into the community, still holding her hand under the umbrella.

After entering the elevator, Tang Wan glanced at the floor button already selected for the same level as his. She hesitated for a moment, then spoke.

“Tongtong, I want to ask you something.”
