Chapter 1139: Ruthless CEO 29
After finishing work discussions, Li Shuangtong suddenly asked, “Your ex-husband… hasn’t come to harass you recently, has he?”
Tang Wan paused for a moment, then shook
her head. “No. He doesn’t have that kind of reach here. S City isn’t his
territory, and I’m also working at LS Group.” She hesitated slightly, then
added, “Mr. Li… you wouldn’t fire me because of him, right?”
Li Shuangtong answered immediately, “Of
course not. Even if I have to confront him head-on, I won’t push you away.”
Tang Wan looked at him with a slightly
stunned expression, then her eyes softened. “Mr. Li… you’re really kind to me.”
After a light sigh, she said, “If I had met
you earlier, I definitely wouldn’t have married Fu Yunshan.”
Li Shuangtong’s gaze deepened. “It’s not
too late now. I can still treat you better.”
Tang Wan blinked, clearly surprised.
Li Shuangtong cleared his throat and
continued more seriously, “I’m not usually interested in women. But you are an
exception.”
His voice lowered slightly. “You’re like a
magnet to me. I don’t know how to describe it more romantically, but I just
feel drawn to you. The more I interact with you, the more I can’t pull away.”
In his mind, he thought calmly: this kind
of timing is perfect. Unlike Fu Yunshan, he wouldn’t waste such an opportunity.
Tang Wan stared at him slightly blankly.
“Mr. Li… you…”
“Don’t call me Mr. Li,” he interrupted
lightly. “Call my name.”
Tang Wan’s eyes curved slightly. “Then…
Tongtong?”
Li Shuangtong paused for a second. No one
had ever called him that before, and it felt strangely intimate.
After a short cough, he nodded. “Yes.
That’s fine.”
Tang Wan smiled. “So… Tongtong means you
like me?”
“Otherwise?” he replied without hesitation.
“But I’m divorced,” she said softly,
testing his reaction.
“So what?” Li Shuangtong said calmly.
“Divorce doesn’t take away your value. It only proves the man who left you was
blind.”
Then, with a faint smirk, he added,
“Actually, I should thank Fu Yunshan. If he weren’t so blind, I wouldn’t have
the chance to say this to you now.”
Tang Wan’s expression softened instantly. “Tongtong… thank you. No one has ever said something like that to me before. You’re the first person who truly acknowledges me like this.”
