Chapter 1109: Iceberg Doctor 58
“Moreover, if you think about it carefully, you’ll notice the contradiction in her behavior was very obvious. You just didn’t question it—you only focused on her asking you to spend money.” Li Sitong said calmly.
Li Sihao’s eyes widened slightly. After a moment of silence, his expression slowly shifted.
Now that he thought about it… it did seem strange.
In the beginning, Tang Wan had always said she was a swimmer, training was exhausting, and it wasn’t easy to earn bonuses, so she asked him to save money and not buy her expensive things. But after he returned with the championship, she suddenly changed—she started comparing, wanting branded items, asking for expensive things.
At the time, he thought it was just occasional indulgence and didn’t take it seriously. But after that “date,” her exaggerated behavior made her look like a gold-digger, and he immediately wanted to distance himself without thinking further.
Only now did he realize he had never really questioned the inconsistency.
He frowned. “Then why did she do that? Was she just playing with me?”
Li Sitong raised his eyebrows slightly. “She wasn’t playing with you. She was testing you. Unfortunately, you failed.”
He added calmly, “I’ve already explained everything. Don’t disturb Wanwan anymore.”
With that, he turned and returned to the living room.
Li Sihao stood there for a long time, fists clenched.
At lunchtime, Li Sihao was called in to eat, and only then did he slowly walk back inside.
During the meal, he suddenly noticed Tang Wan’s manners. She was composed, elegant, and every movement looked refined and natural. Completely different from the impression he had before—careless, exaggerated, even a little vulgar.
That contrast hit him hard.
He realized he had never truly understood her.
Or rather, he had given up before he even tried to understand.
Now it was too late.
After lunch, Li Sitong left with Tang Wan, saying there were things to handle at the hospital.
In the car, Tang Wan tilted her head. “Tongtong, what did you say to Li Sihao?”
Li Sitong glanced at her and smiled faintly. “I just told him it was his loss not to have you—and my luck.”
Tang Wan immediately laughed.
“But for me,” she said lightly, “losing him was also my luck. Otherwise, how would I have met you?”
Li Sitong smiled at that.
The car soon stopped in front of a bridal shop.
When they got out, Tang Wan’s eyes lit up. “Tongtong, are we here to try wedding dresses?”
“Of course,” Li Sitong replied. “We already got the certificate. A wedding can’t be missing.”
Tang Wan smiled brightly and walked in with him to choose wedding dresses.
