Chapter 1099: Iceberg Doctor 48

Therefore, Li Sitong’s return at noon was settled. After finishing everything, he returned to his home and cleaned up the dishes and chopsticks. Once the kitchen was tidied, he washed the rice, set the rice cooker on a timer, and ensured that the meal would be ready exactly when he came back.

After finishing, he walked to the door of Tang Wan’s house and said, “Wan Wan, I’m going to work now. If you’re bored, watch TV. Call me if anything happens.”

“Mm! Go ahead and work,” Tang Wan replied with a smile.

Li Sitong nodded but still didn’t leave immediately. Instead, he turned back and sat beside her on the sofa with a slightly serious expression.

Tang Wan blinked. “Tongtong, is there something else?”

Li Sitong’s throat moved slightly before he said, “I heard girls like to say goodbye to their boyfriends before they go to work.”

Tang Wan immediately smiled, eyes curved in expectation.

Li Sitong couldn’t resist that expression.

So he leaned in.

The kiss lasted longer than expected.

Unlike the restrained kiss from the previous night, this one carried a different kind of awareness. Li Sitong, who was used to dissecting the human body with clinical detachment, suddenly found himself unable to think of it as something purely anatomical anymore.

After several minutes, he finally pulled back. “Then I’m going to work.”

“Mm,” Tang Wan looked at him and nodded.

He kissed her forehead again before finally getting up and leaving.

In the elevator, Li Sitong looked at his reflection. His lips were slightly red, and his expression still carried a faint trace of warmth and unreleased emotion.

He raised a finger and lightly touched his lips, then chuckled softly.

So this is what kissing feels like.

Not bad.

By the time he stepped out of the elevator, his expression had already returned to his usual calm and reserved state. By the time he reached the hospital entrance, the faint warmth had completely disappeared, replaced by his familiar cold, distant demeanor.

At the same time, in the First People’s Hospital, the male lead Yang Chenyu had already been moved into the VIP ward. Although he was physically stable, his mental state remained extremely low, and he showed no will to recover.

Li Sitong had long been aware of the Yang family. The company involved in selling defective drugs that harmed his mother had never escaped his attention.

He did not feel sympathy for Yang Chenyu. Instead, he saw it as retribution.

If the Yang family had not harmed so many innocent patients, why would they end up with such consequences? This was their debt.

But even so, he would not stop what he was doing.

The past would not be buried so easily.

At noon, after a morning of gaming, Tang Wan was still at home when Li Sitong finished work and returned. Because traffic was smooth, he arrived in just ten minutes.
