Chapter 1079: Iceberg Doctor 28
Just as Li Sitong’s heartbeat slightly quickened, thinking she was about to imply something to him, he heard Tang Wan say, “And besides, Doctor Li, didn’t you say before that I would definitely meet someone who won’t abandon me? I believe you, so I’ll definitely meet someone who can satisfy me completely.”
Li Sitong nodded faintly. “I hope so.”
At this time, the waiter came over and said, “Two guests, one of the private rooms has just been vacated, but it is still being cleaned. Please wait a moment.”
“Okay,” Tang Wan nodded.
Soon after, the two followed the waiter into another private room.
After entering, Tang Wan picked up the menu and looked at Li Sitong. “What do you want to eat?”
“Anything is fine,” Li Sitong replied.
Tang Wan nodded. “Then I’ll just order?”
Since she was the one treating, she naturally took responsibility for ordering. “Mm,” Li Sitong responded.
She lowered her head and flipped through the menu carefully. Although she didn’t know Li Sitong’s preferences in this world, she knew exactly what Tongtong liked. So she subconsciously ordered a few dishes that matched that taste profile.
Li Sitong raised his eyebrows slightly as he listened.
Coincidence?
Every dish she ordered happened to be exactly what he liked.
After ordering, Tang Wan naturally picked up the teapot and poured him a cup of tea. “Here.”
“Thank you,” Li Sitong said, taking a sip.
The tea at Zhou Ji was high-grade, not the cheap kind found in ordinary restaurants. Everything here was tailored for wealthy clientele—taste, atmosphere, and presentation all carefully designed to project status.
Her movements were smooth and elegant, unexpectedly pleasant to watch.
After a few sips, Tang Wan casually opened a topic. “Doctor Li, are you usually very busy?”
“Not too bad,” Li Sitong replied calmly. “Only busy during emergencies. Normally it’s fine.”
“Oh, that’s quite a coincidence,” Tang Wan said. “I once went to your hospital and saw a lot of nurses secretly looking at you at the door. It seems Doctor Li is very popular.”
Li Sitong looked at her slightly. “You’ve seen me at the hospital?”
Tang Wan quickly waved her hand. “No, no—it wasn’t on purpose! I just happened to pass by.”
“Is that so,” he replied.
But in his mind, he was already recalling it.
There was a moment—an afternoon where he had vaguely noticed someone outside the door. Just a glimpse through the gap. He only remembered a pair of clear, bright eyes.
Back then… they didn’t even know each other.
“When exactly did you see me?” he asked suddenly.
“And why didn’t you come find me?”
The question was deliberately casual, but his gaze sharpened slightly.
Tang Wan immediately shook her head. “We didn’t know each other at that time. Why would I go find you? I just happened to see nurses crowding around the door, got curious, took a glance, and left.”
“Is that so,” Li Sitong said lightly.
His lips curved slightly, but there was a faint sense of disappointment in his eyes.
He had briefly thought—maybe she had already been paying attention to him back then.
It seemed…
He was overthinking it.
