Chapter 1067: Iceberg Doctor 16
After ending the call, Li Sitong immediately joined the others rushing over to rescue Tang Wan from the car. The moment he saw who was trapped inside, he froze briefly, then quickly stepped forward, his usually calm voice turning firm and steady. “Don’t be afraid. It’s me. How do you feel right now? We’ll get you out immediately. You’ll be fine.”
Hearing this, Tang Wan looked at him
weakly, her expression pitiful and helpless. “Really? I’m not going to die, am
I?” Those words made Li Sitong frown deeply. For some reason, he disliked
hearing her say that. Seeing her injured like this stirred an unfamiliar sense
of restlessness in him. “No. I promise. I’m a surgeon—you’ll be fine,” he said
with certainty.
“Thank you…” Tang Wan’s fear eased
slightly. Seeing that, Li Sitong also felt a bit more at ease. Soon, with the
help of others, they carefully pulled her out of the car. Knowing the ambulance
would take at least twenty minutes, Li Sitong made a quick decision. After
giving her basic first aid, he said decisively, “Put her in my car. I’ll take
her to the hospital—there’s arterial bleeding.” The others nodded immediately
and helped carry Tang Wan into the back seat.
Fortunately, his SUV had enough space. As
soon as she was settled, Li Sitong stepped on the accelerator and sped toward
the nearest hospital. Upon arrival, he revealed his identity and directly took
her into the operating room, personally performing the necessary sutures.
A few hours later, Tang Wan slowly woke up
on the hospital bed. Li Sitong hadn’t left. Seeing her open her eyes, he
stepped forward at once. “You’re awake. How do you feel?” Tang Wan stared at
him blankly for a moment before replying softly, “I’m okay… just a little
dizzy.” Li Sitong let out a quiet breath. “You have a mild concussion, but it’s
not serious. Just rest well.”
“Mm… thank you for saving me. If it weren’t
for you… I don’t know what would’ve happened,” Tang Wan said. Li Sitong shook
his head slightly. “I’m a doctor. This is my responsibility.” Then he added,
“You’ll need to stay in the hospital for observation. Notify your family to
come.”
At that, Tang Wan lowered her gaze, her
expression dimming. “I don’t have any family…” Li Sitong paused. “No family?”
“My parents passed away,” she said quietly.
He frowned slightly, then asked, “What
about friends?” Tang Wan hesitated, then nodded faintly. She picked up her
phone and scrolled for a long time before making a call. “Hello, Aunt Li? I’ve
been in a car accident and need someone to take care of me. Do you have time?
I’ll pay you one thousand a day… is that okay?”
Listening from the side, Li Sitong couldn’t
help glancing at her again. Dressed in a hospital gown, without the earlier
makeup, her face looked clean and delicate, her pale complexion making her
appear especially fragile.
For a moment, his heartbeat felt slightly
off.
After ending the call, Tang Wan looked at him. “I’ve arranged for someone to come this afternoon. Thank you so much for today… By the way, my name is Tang Wan. What’s yours? And the medical expenses—I’ll transfer them to you.”
