Chapter 1053: Iceberg Doctor 2
At that moment, Tang Wan’s phone suddenly rang. She picked it up immediately and unlocked it.
A WeChat message popped up. It was from Zhao Jie, with a photo attached.
“Baby, I won an award! I’ll be back in the country tomorrow to see you!”
Tang Wan tapped the image. In the photo, a tall, muscular, dark-skinned young man stood holding a photography certificate, a faint smile on his face.
Zhao Jie—one of the original host’s five boyfriends, a well-known photographer who specialized in natural scenery and a leading figure in his field.
Seeing the message, Tang Wan’s heart jumped.
Damn it! Zhou You hasn’t been dealt with yet, and now Zhao Jie is coming back too?!
She was genuinely impressed.
How did the original host manage to juggle five men at once without getting exposed?
Looking at the message, Tang Wan’s thoughts raced. She had to break up with all of them—but carefully. These men weren’t normal. On the surface, they were outstanding, but every single one had something seriously wrong with them.
If she handled this poorly, she might not even know how she died.
Taking a slow breath, Tang Wan quickly typed a reply, deliberately sounding surprised and happy:
“Really?! That’s amazing! I’ll be waiting for you to come back!”
But inwardly, she sneered.
Time to test my acting skills. I can handle villains—what’s a few lunatics?
A moment later, Zhao Jie replied:
“Then I’ll see you tomorrow night, baby.”
Those three words made Tang Wan’s scalp tingle. Goosebumps rose instantly, and she exited the chat without hesitation.
…
Half an hour later, Zhou You got off work. He was currently a senior at a nearby art academy. Because studying fine arts was expensive, he worked part-time at the café. The original host had once tried to sponsor him, but he had firmly refused due to his strong self-esteem.
After changing out of his uniform, he walked over in a simple white shirt and black trousers, looking clean and gentle.
“Wan Wan, shall we head back? I’ll cook braised ribs for you tonight, okay?”
Tang Wan didn’t want to go with him at all. This was the man who killed the original host—going home with him was basically asking to die.
But she couldn’t refuse directly.
Forcing an apologetic expression, she said, “Sorry, Zhou You. Someone from the company just called. There’s a problem with the project I’m handling, and I need to go back immediately. If I lose this project, the past six months of work will be wasted.”
Zhou You’s expression darkened for a moment, but he quickly suppressed it.
“It’s okay. Work is important. I’ll take you there?”
Tang Wan nodded lightly. “Mm. I’ll make it up to you after this project is done.”
“Okay!” Zhou You’s mood visibly improved.
The two of them left the café together and walked toward the parking lot.
…
One of the original host’s most impressive abilities was maintaining completely different identities in front of each man. In front of Zhou You, she was a company executive—elegant, intelligent, slightly cold, but with just enough softness to attract someone like him.
When they reached the Maserati, Tang Wan got into the car. She pretended to send a voice message while having Little Cutie imitate a client and reply.
The “conversation” escalated quickly.
Suddenly, Tang Wan slammed her phone down, her expression turning furious.
“WQNMLGB! You want to bail on me at a time like this?! Just you wait!”
“If I don’t ruin you, my name isn’t Tang Wan! Serves you right for getting cheated on by your wife!”
Zhou You: …
