Chapter 1035: Doomsday Big Boss 39

The next morning, when Tang Wan opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was a pair of bright, smiling eyes.

“Tongtong…” she murmured softly.

“Wanwan, you’re awake? Are you hungry? I found a carton of milk for you—it hasn’t expired yet!” Hu Tongxia said quickly, his tone full of excitement.

Inwardly, he was already thinking: She was so tired yesterday… she definitely needs to replenish her nutrition.

Only then did Tang Wan fully come back to her senses—she was still in the apocalypse world.

She nodded lightly. “A little hungry… I want some water.”

As soon as she spoke, Hu Tongxia immediately replied, “Okay, wait a moment!”

He carefully helped her sit up, propping a pillow behind her back, then hurried off to pour water.

“Here.” He held the cup to her lips.

After a few sips, the dryness in her throat eased.

Soon after, Hu Tongxia brought over breakfast.

Compared to usual, today’s meal was clearly much more plentiful.

Tang Wan immediately understood—he must have prepared all of this specifically for her.

Her lips curved slightly. “Tongtong, have you eaten?”

“Not yet. I was waiting for you so we could eat together,” he said without hesitation.

What was the point of eating alone?

Hearing that, Tang Wan quickly tried to sit up properly—

But as she did, the quilt slipped off.

The room instantly fell silent.

A moment later, a very obvious gulp echoed in the air.

Tang Wan: …

Hu Tongxia also realized how embarrassing that sounded. He coughed quickly, then grabbed a set of clothes from the nearby sofa and handed them to her.

“These are new. I brought them for you… see if they fit,” he said, his face slightly red.

Tang Wan accepted them, her expression calm—but her eyes flicked toward him with a hint of amusement. “Thank you.”

Then she added lightly, “You eat first. I’ll change.”

“Mm!” Hu Tongxia nodded, immediately turning away.

He sat down at the table, pretending to focus on the food—but his eyes kept drifting toward her.

And every time they did, his face grew a little redder.

A few minutes later, Tang Wan finished changing.

After a quick wash, she sat down beside him.

Hu Tongxia quickly opened the milk for her. “I warmed it up. Drink it while it’s still hot.”

“Mm. Tongtong, you’re really thoughtful,” Tang Wan said with a smile.

Hu Tongxia felt his heart swell with happiness, though he tried to act modest. “It’s nothing.”

Then he added quickly, “But I’ll be even better in the future.”

So… don’t break up with me.

After breakfast, the two of them headed out together.

It was already October, and winter would arrive in just two months. If they didn’t stockpile enough supplies now, surviving the cold season would be difficult.

So their daily task remained the same—go out and gather food.

As they stepped outside, they ran into Xu Jintang and Li Feng, who were also preparing to leave.

Seeing Hu Tongxia, Li Feng greeted him immediately. “Brother Hu, heading out again today?”

Hu Tongxia nodded lightly. “Mm. We’re checking nearby areas for supplies. The more food we gather, the longer we can last.”

As he spoke, he cast a casual, disdainful glance at Xu Jintang.
