Chapter 1033: Doomsday Big Boss 37
Hearing Tang Wan’s words, Hu Tongxia felt as if something soft and sweet had struck his heart.
He hadn’t expected her to notice his mood at all.
What did that mean?
It meant she cared.
Otherwise, how could she have picked up on his emotions so quickly?
For a moment, he couldn’t help tightening his grip on her hand before saying slowly, “It’s nothing… just that during dinner, you mentioned Xu Jintang again.”
Tang Wan paused slightly. “Because of that?”
She had thought it was something serious.
Seeing her surprised expression, Hu Tongxia nodded, looking a little awkward but sincere. “Mm. I don’t like hearing other men’s names from you… especially Xu Jintang. After all, before…”
He trailed off.
Even though she had said she didn’t like Xu Jintang, the fact remained—she used to revolve around him.
Hearing this, Tang Wan couldn’t help twitching her lips slightly. Then she said seriously, “Sorry. It won’t happen again. I only asked because I saw Feifei alone.”
“And I really don’t like him.”
Hu Tongxia nodded, trying to look indifferent. “Oh.”
But inside, he was practically exploding with happiness.
Yet when Tang Wan saw that his expression still hadn’t softened, she added, “So don’t be upset over irrelevant people. I only like you.”
“Mm… got it,” he replied, still trying to sound calm—but the corners of his lips couldn’t help lifting.
Seeing this, Tang Wan finally relaxed. Then she raised a brow at him. “That’s it? Nothing else to say?”
Hu Tongxia’s heart stirred. He hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “There is.”
“Hm?” Tang Wan looked at him curiously.
But the next second, Hu Tongxia spoke—making it clear she had overestimated him.
He looked at her nervously and said, “Tonight… can you stay and keep me company?”
As soon as the words left his mouth, he panicked slightly and hurriedly added, “I swear I won’t do anything! I won’t mess around!”
Tang Wan blinked.
Those words… sounded oddly familiar.
But looking at his nervous yet hopeful expression, she smiled faintly and nodded. “Alright.”
Though inwardly, she sighed.
Men really were all the same.
But this was the apocalypse—no one even knew if they would see tomorrow’s sun. There was no need to be overly reserved.
If they were together, then being happy in the moment mattered most.
Seeing her agree, Hu Tongxia’s eyes instantly lit up.
“Then I—I’ll go make the bed!”
Tang Wan: …
Make the bed?
Do you even hear yourself?
Can you not look so eager, like you’re preparing a chopping board and waiting for me to lie down on it?
Meanwhile, Hu Tongxia had already jumped up from the sofa.
He hurried over to the shelf, pulled out the extra mattress he had stuffed inside, and efficiently replaced the old, worn bedding with a new, soft one.
