Chapter 1027: Doomsday Big Boss 31

The moment the black energy coiled around his arm, Zhou Tao felt a chilling force surge straight into his body. The part wrapped by that strange black aura turned ice-cold in an instant.

And this wasn’t just his imagination.

A thin layer of white frost began to form over his muscular, tattooed arm. In the next second, the temperature in his limb plummeted, and he rapidly lost all sensation.

Zhou Tao’s expression changed dramatically.

He didn’t even have time to follow through with his attack. Instead, he yanked his arm back and stumbled a few steps backward, frantically slapping at it as if trying to stop the black energy from spreading further.

But Hu Tongxia didn’t give him that chance.

He stepped forward and threw a punch.

Zhou Tao’s face darkened. Gritting his teeth, he raised his other arm to block.

The two fists collided.

But instead of a normal impact, Zhou Tao felt as though he had struck solid steel.

“Ah—!” he cried out, his body forced back several steps.

When the two separated, everyone present sucked in a breath.

Zhou Tao’s arm looked like cracked ice—fine fractures spreading across it as if it might shatter at any moment. Even his other arm, which had just blocked the attack, was now covered in a thin layer of frost, splitting like frozen glass under pressure.

Shock rippled through the crowd.

What kind of ability was this?

Ice powers they had seen before were clearly white—but Hu Tongxia’s was pitch black.

No one could make sense of it.

Hu Tongxia, however, paid no attention to their stunned reactions. He stood firmly in front of Tang Wan, shielding her behind him, and sneered at Zhou Tao.

“With you?” he said coldly. “You think you’re worthy of someone like Wan Wan? Take a look at yourself first.”

Everyone: …

Was he seriously flirting at a time like this?

Zhou Tao’s face turned even uglier. He clenched his numb, unresponsive fist and glared at Hu Tongxia. “What did you do to me?”

Since the apocalypse began, he had rarely encountered anyone who could stand against him. Yet now, this seemingly unremarkable young man had crippled both his arms in just a single exchange.

How could he possibly swallow this humiliation?

Hu Tongxia grinned. “Nothing much. Just helped you get rid of a pair of hands that didn’t know their place. No need to thank me.”

Zhou Tao’s expression twisted further.

With difficulty, he raised his right arm and barked at Li Feng and the others, “What are you standing there for? Kill him!”

At his command, the ability users on Hu Tongxia’s side immediately tightened their formation, stepping forward with wary expressions to guard him.

Li Feng’s face turned grim.

Just two days ago, he had agreed to head to the air-raid shelter with Hu Tongxia. But now, things had escalated into open conflict—and Hu Tongxia, who had seemed so ordinary, had just crippled their boss with ease.

If Hu Tongxia was this strong… were there even stronger people in that shelter?

If so, how were they supposed to seize control of it later?

After a moment of hesitation, Li Feng leaned closer and lowered his voice. “Boss… now’s not the time to fight them.”

But the moment he finished speaking, Zhou Tao shot him a savage glare.

The meaning was clear:

Are you betraying me?
