Chapter 1021: Doomsday Big Boss 25
But Tang Wan was still holding a plate.
Seeing Hu Tongxia reach out to hug her, she quickly stopped him. “Wait—I still have this in my hand.”
Only then did Hu Tongxia react. He took the plate from her, set it aside on the iron rack nearby, and without another word pulled her into his room. The next second, he lifted her up and spun her around in excitement, unable to hide the joy on his face.
After a few turns, he finally stopped, his cheeks slightly flushed as he looked at her. “So… from now on, we’re boyfriend and girlfriend?”
Tang Wan met his gaze, her eyes bright, and nodded softly. “Mm.”
Hu Tongxia let out a long breath of relief. “That’s great. I was worried you’d refuse.”
Then, after a brief hesitation, he added, “Then… can I kiss you?”
As he spoke, his eyes drifted straight to her lips. He had been eyeing them since earlier—back when she was eating the roasted pigeon. Soft, slightly flushed… they looked so inviting that he had wanted to kiss them at first sight.
Hearing this, Tang Wan lowered her head slightly and gave a soft, almost inaudible hum in agreement.
Inside, however, she couldn’t help but laugh.
This Tong Tong… unexpectedly innocent.
The moment she agreed, Hu Tongxia stepped forward without hesitation, as if afraid she might change her mind. He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers.
After a moment, he pulled back, his eyes shining with satisfaction. “I like you so much,” he said, his voice full of sincerity.
It was sweet.
How blind had he been before, to think she was annoying?
Tang Wan couldn’t help smiling at his words. After a short pause, she lowered her gaze and said softly, “It’s getting late… I should head back.”
“What late? It’s not even eight yet,” Hu Tongxia said quickly. Then, as if something occurred to him, he added, “Oh right—I’ve got movies on my computer. Want to watch something?”
Inwardly, he thought: We just got together. There’s no way I’m letting her leave so soon.
Tang Wan looked at him with a slightly strange expression. “Movies?”
Was it… the kind she was thinking of?
Seeing her look, Hu Tongxia immediately understood and waved his hands in a panic. “Not that kind! Just normal movies! Really!”
The internet had long since collapsed, but he had managed to find a computer in a shop that still had a bunch of films downloaded.
Tang Wan nodded. “Alright. I don’t have anything else to do anyway.”
Hearing her agree, Hu Tongxia felt a wave of relief. “Then sit.”
He led her to the small sofa, queued up a movie, then went to grab two drinks from the shelf. After opening one for her, he handed it over. “Here.”
“Thanks,” Tang Wan said, taking a sip.
Hu Tongxia sat down beside her.
The sofa was meant for two, but it was small enough that sitting side by side meant they were practically pressed together. Feeling the warmth of her body so close, Hu Tongxia couldn’t help feeling secretly pleased that the sofa wasn’t any bigger.
Otherwise, how could he sit this close to her?
They started watching a comedy.
Whenever something funny happened, Tang Wan would laugh lightly, clearly enjoying herself. Hu Tongxia laughed along too—but in truth, his attention wasn’t on the movie at all.
His gaze kept drifting back to her.
Afraid she might notice, he would quickly force out a laugh whenever she did, pretending to follow along.
After all, no matter how good the movie was… how could it possibly compare to watching her?
