Chapter 1008: Doomsday Big Boss 12

As the group headed out, Liu Feifei noticed them and quickly stepped forward. “Wan Wan, Tongxia, where are you going?”

Tang Wan smiled lightly. “There’s a furniture store nearby. We’re going to bring back a few beds. What do you like, Feifei? I can pick one for you too.”

Liu Feifei shook her head. “No need. The bed I have now is already very comfortable.”

She said it casually, but it was true. Although the beds in the air-raid shelter were small, Xu Jintang, as the base leader, naturally wouldn’t treat his fiancรฉe poorly. While others made do with thin blankets scavenged from residential areas, Liu Feifei slept on soft silk bedding, her small bed arranged like a cozy nest.

Compared to her, most people had no room to be picky.

Tang Wan nodded. “Alright then. We’ll head out first.”

“Be careful on the way!” Liu Feifei reminded them.

“We will,” Tang Wan replied, before leaving with Hu Tongxia and the others.

The truck only had one passenger seat.

As soon as Hu Tongxia got in, he said to the others, “Tang Wan takes the front. You guys sit in the back.”

The others didn’t object, but they couldn’t help exchanging glances.

These two used to clash constantly—if they didn’t argue for a day, it felt strange. And now, Hu Tongxia was actually letting Tang Wan sit in the passenger seat?

Something was definitely off.

Tang Wan, however, got in without hesitation.

Seeing this, Hu Tongxia’s lips curved slightly. Once everyone else climbed into the back, he started the engine.

He used to drive recklessly, and with the roads now mostly empty except for zombies, he drove even more aggressively. Whenever he saw a zombie blocking the way, he simply rammed straight through.

Bang—

Rotting flesh and blood splattered across the front of the truck.

Tang Wan: …

She took a breath, then glanced at the mess on the windshield. “Can you drive more carefully? We’re bringing furniture back later. What if it gets stained with all this filth?”

Hearing this, Hu Tongxia grinned. “Got it.”

After that, he noticeably slowed down and stopped driving as wildly as before.

There were too many zombies along the way. What should have been a five-kilometer trip took them half an hour.

When they finally stopped in front of the furniture store, everyone got out and scanned the surroundings cautiously.

“Not many zombies nearby,” someone said in a low voice. “Let’s move fast—grab the beds and leave.”

“Alright.”

A few of them slipped quietly into the store.

Unlike food supplies, furniture was bulky and difficult to transport. And in a world where survival itself wasn’t guaranteed, few people had the luxury of caring about comfort.

As a result, the store was still well-stocked—completely different from supermarkets, which had long since been stripped bare.

After entering, Hu Tongxia quickly dealt with a few wandering zombies inside. Then he turned to Tang Wan and lowered his voice.

“Which one do you want? Pick quickly.”

Tang Wan glanced at him, nodded, and began scanning the store.
