Chapter 1002: Doomsday Big Boss 6

Hearing Tang Wan’s words, Liu Feifei let out a sigh of relief.

Then she said softly, “Also… about today… Tongxia didn’t mean to leave you behind. Don’t blame him.”

She didn’t know about the poor relationship between Tang Wan and Hu Tongxia. But one was her good friend, and the other had protected her many times. She didn’t want the two of them to grow further apart because of this incident.

Tang Wan listened, then gave a faint smile.

“What’s there to blame?” she said casually. “I’m already used to the way he treats me.”

To be fair, Liu Feifei really wasn’t having an easy time.

According to the original host’s memories, every time Tang Wan and Hu Tongxia clashed, Liu Feifei would always step in to mediate between them, doing her best to keep the peace.

Hearing her response, Liu Feifei smiled helplessly.

“That’s just how Tongxia is. He always looks like he dislikes everyone,” she said. “Look at how he treats Jintang—he mocks him all the time too. Don’t take his words to heart. If you do, you’ll only upset yourself, and he’ll probably end up angry as well.”

Tang Wan knew Liu Feifei was speaking sincerely, not trying to stir anything up.

So she smiled and nodded. “Alright, I understand. Feifei, you just worry too much. You nag like an old mother all day—aren’t you afraid Jintang will get tired of it?”

As she spoke, Tang Wan reached out and ruffled her hair.

Liu Feifei was slightly shorter than her, small and delicate, with a naturally cute appearance. It was easy to reach the top of her head.

Liu Feifei was momentarily stunned when her hair was tousled.

But in the next second, a gentle, happy smile appeared on her face.

“No, Jintang wouldn’t dislike me!”

“Hmph, he’d better not,” Tang Wan said immediately. “If he dares, I’ll deal with him for you!”

Hearing this, Liu Feifei looked at her with obvious emotion.

“Wan Wan, I’m so lucky to have a friend like you.”

Before, Tang Wan had even reminded her to be wary of other girls approaching Jintang. And now, she was still willing to stand up for her.

Although Liu Feifei believed Jintang would never betray her, it wasn’t easy to have such a sincere friend.

She would cherish this friendship.

Seeing Liu Feifei’s touched expression, Tang Wan couldn’t help but twitch her lips inwardly.

This girl really trusts people too easily.

If one day Xu Jintang chose power over her and got involved with other women… would she still believe in him so blindly?

Still, since Liu Feifei treated her as a friend, Tang Wan decided she would gradually guide her toward independence.

At the very least, she wouldn’t let her become someone who depended entirely on Xu Jintang—raised in disguise like a caged bird, surviving only through him.

“Alright, don’t get so emotional,” Tang Wan said lightly. “Haven’t you helped me before too? Come on, let’s go eat.”

Liu Feifei nodded immediately, linking arms with her as they headed toward the dining hall.

The moment they entered, Hu Tongxia and Xu Jintang both looked over.

In the past, Hu Tongxia would have already called Liu Feifei over to sit beside him.

But today, he cleared his throat, patted the seat next to him, and said a little awkwardly to Tang Wan, “Sit here. The chef made steak today.”

Xu Jintang raised his brows in surprise.

Still, it worked out better for him if no one competed for Feifei’s attention.

“Feifei, come sit here,” he said.

But at that moment, Tang Wan pulled Liu Feifei along and chose seats far away from both of them.

“We’ll sit here.”

As if she’d bother sitting next to either of them.
