Chapter 992: Beautiful Girl (37)

The Chinese teacher's expression changed. She clearly hadn't expected this student to dare talk back to her. Furious, she stormed off.

This ill-mannered girl would be expelled soon enough. There was no need for her to waste words on someone like that.

The homeroom teacher conveyed her thoughts to the school administration, and they agreed to speak with Zuo Ran and Wei Liang first. After all, they were the parties involved.

As long as the two boys were willing to come forward and state that their relationship with Tang Guo was innocent, the whole issue could be resolved.

But to everyone's surprise, both boys refused to discuss the matter. They were even less willing to clear Tang Guo's name.

Before school ended that afternoon, the homeroom teacher found Tang Guo and informed her that the talks had failed. She gently suggested once more that Tang Guo transfer schools, because this place was no longer suitable for her studies.

“Perhaps they think I'm not sincere enough,” Tang Guo said, her expression carrying a trace of hope. “I'll go speak to them personally. What do you think, Teacher?”

After a moment's thought, the homeroom teacher replied, “Then go and ask them. But if that doesn't work, I still advise you to transfer schools.”

Don't let rumors ruin your life.

She was only a small homeroom teacher. There was very little she could do in this matter.

Those two boys were not people she dared provoke.

When she had been younger, she had been straightforward and uncompromising. People with such temperaments had to crash into walls countless times before learning their lesson.

Being smoother, colder, and more detached made life much easier. Learning to ignore things and mind one's own business reduced a lot of trouble.

Many times, good intentions yielded no rewards and sometimes even brought resentment instead.

But this time, she truly felt regret.

From their brief interactions, she believed Tang Guo was genuinely a good girl.

She even regretted not intervening earlier when the rumors had first begun. Perhaps things would never have escalated to this point.

That afternoon, Wei Liang and Zuo Ran had a physical education class.

They usually spent PE periods playing basketball.

Taking advantage of the break, Tang Guo went to find them.

Her appearance on the basketball court immediately attracted countless eyes. Some people even gathered around to watch.

Especially when they saw her walking straight toward Wei Liang and Zuo Ran, their curiosity intensified. Several students had already taken out their phones to record.

Tang Guo's expression remained calm, a faint smile curling her lips.

“History is about to repeat itself,” she murmured. “I wonder what choice they'll make this time.”

The system's entire database trembled. Looking at the two handsome boys in the distance, he didn't believe they would change their minds.

At least, based on all his previous experience, humans were inherently stubborn creatures.

Without suffering the most painful lessons, they would never recognize their own mistakes.

Zuo Ran and Wei Liang had also spotted Tang Guo approaching.

They exchanged glances, stopped their game, and waited for her to reach them.

“What are you here for?” Wei Liang asked.

Tang Guo appeared somewhat hesitant, but eventually she spoke.

“I want to ask you to help me prove the truth. Help explain everything to everyone.”

“Prove what?” Zuo Ran felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction.

Wei Liang had been right.

Eventually, she couldn't withstand the pressure and had come to seek them out.

But if she expected them to agree immediately, she was dreaming.

The two exchanged another glance and silently decided to teach her a lesson, one she wouldn't easily forget.

“Prove that our relationship is innocent,” Tang Guo said frankly, looking straight at them with a trace of hope in her eyes. “Nothing like being kept ever happened. We were just friends from the beginning.”

In Tang Guo's heart, the two of them should have been her friends.

Now that they were avoiding her, she assumed it was simply because their failed confessions had hurt their pride.

And that, she could understand.
