Chapter 964: Beautiful Girl (11)

The two boys escorted Tang Guo back to the classroom. Seeing the confusion in the girl's eyes, Wei Liang explained, “There are a lot of people in school who aren't friendly toward you right now. They don't dare provoke us. Since we all know each other, if we didn't walk you back to class, we'd feel uneasy.”

“Then thank you very much.”

Watching the clean, sincere smile on the girl's face, both of them froze for a moment. Ever since they had noticed her, she had rarely smiled.

Ever since the second semester of her first year in high school, countless rumors had surrounded her.

Almost no one believed she was innocent. Even the few girls who had once been close to her had gradually distanced themselves because of those baseless rumors.

No one would smile at a crowd that treated them with hostility every day. Because of those rumors, the girls refused to associate with her, and she didn't dare get too close to male classmates either, fearing even uglier stories would spread.

In her heart, she had always thought only of enduring these three years. Once she got into a university she and her mother would both be satisfied with, she would leave this place and stay far away from these unfriendly people.

When Tang Guo entered the classroom, her classmates merely glanced up. Seeing Wei Liang and Zuo Ran accompanying her back, none of them dared say anything.

Those two rich second-generation heirs weren't people anyone wanted to offend.

Though they kept their mouths shut, inwardly they were sneering. As expected of a slut. She had actually managed to hook both Zuo Ran and Wei Liang at the same time.

Leaning against the wall near the restroom, Wei Liang took a drag from his cigarette and exhaled a ring of smoke, his eyes narrowing slightly.

“I feel like she's become much friendlier toward us. When she talks to us now, she even smiles. That's a good sign.”

“Your idea really works,” Zuo Ran said with a smile. “We spent so much effort pursuing her before, and she was always so cold and indifferent. If I didn't know she was a real person, I'd have thought she was a machine.”

Wei Liang crushed the cigarette butt beneath his shoe. “Continue this afternoon?”

“Of course.” Zuo Ran's voice was extraordinarily gentle, sounding as though he was truly considering the welfare of the person he cherished most. “With rumors spreading everywhere, she'll be attacked by words wherever she goes. Without our protection, she'll be hurt.”

“Who would've thought she'd fall for this?” Wei Liang tossed aside the cigarette butt. “If we'd known, we should've used this trick from the start instead of wasting so much time.”

Inside the classroom, Tang Guo was flipping through a book while conversing with the system.

“Keep copies of all the cafeteria surveillance footage for me. In the future, whenever I'm verbally attacked at school, save the recordings from anywhere with cameras.”

Understood, Host.

The system had been unable to endure it for a long time. It had once believed that some people in previous worlds had already been detestable enough.

Who would've imagined that the people here were even worse?

Almost everyone who crossed paths with its host was filled with malice toward her.

It truly admired its host. She was still able to calmly go about her business. That level of patience was simply unmatched.

“And post the footage of that employee serving me lunch today onto the forums,” Tang Guo said with a slight upward curl of her lips, amusement shining in her beautiful eyes. “If someone does something wrong, they should pay the price. No matter what kind of person I am, she's a cafeteria employee. No matter how much she dislikes me, she should still give me the proper amount of food I paid for, not shortchange me.”

The system shuddered and hurriedly answered.

Yes, Host. Host is absolutely right.

By the second class in the afternoon, reporters had already arrived at the school to interview the cafeteria staff.
