Chapter 961: Beautiful Girl (6)

That little girl was fair and delicate, giving off a clean and innocent impression.

Since Song Zhouchen had shown interest in her, neither Wei Liang nor Zuo Ran had paid much attention to her. If memory served them correctly, her name was Bai Fei. Her family circumstances were genuinely poor—perhaps she was the worst-dressed female student in the entire school.

Had it not been for Song Zhouchen's interest, both of them would probably have taken an interest in her as well, perhaps "helping alleviate poverty" and improving the little girl's life.

"Mhm," Song Zhouchen nodded and admitted, "She keeps avoiding me."

"Hahahaha!"

Wei Liang burst into laughter and said in disbelief, "Come on, Zhouchen. You're this handsome, and she's actually avoiding you? Did you do something that scared her? Did you frighten the poor girl?"

Song Zhouchen shook his head gloomily.

"No. Whenever I see her, I can't help but go talk to her. Sometimes I notice she barely eats at lunch, and knowing her family isn't well-off, I buy her extra dishes. But every time, she gets so frightened she won't even eat and runs away."

The other two couldn't help laughing.

"She's probably afraid you're going to eat her."

Then Zuo Ran narrowed his eyes and smiled.

"Zhouchen, are you really interested in this little girl? Why not join our next game? Her avoiding you isn't going to solve anything. Join us, and perhaps you'll win the little beauty's heart much sooner."

Song Zhouchen immediately shook his head.

"I'm different from you two. I really like her. I want to help her, not hurt her. And don't even think about targeting her. If you do, then don't call yourselves my brothers anymore."

Wei Liang and Zuo Ran exchanged glances.

Neither had expected Song Zhouchen to be this serious.

It seemed that he had truly been captivated by that little girl.

Suddenly, Wei Liang thought of something.

"Who says our method would hurt her? Isn't she afraid of you right now? We can use our plan to help you get close to her. Once she's willing to talk to you, you can withdraw at any time."

"Besides, with you watching over her and protecting her from the sidelines, she won't be hurt. She'll only become closer to you."

Zuo Ran also chimed in, finding the idea of three people joining the game far more entertaining.

Song Zhouchen was somewhat tempted.

After thinking for a moment, he nodded.

"Fine. But neither of you can get close to her. She's my responsibility alone. And if things start getting out of hand, you must warn me immediately."

"Alright, alright."

Wei Liang waved his hand dismissively.

"We won't interfere with you and your little girl, okay?"

Song Zhouchen smiled and nodded.

At that moment, they remembered the person sitting in the corner, flipping through a mathematics exercise book.

Zuo Ran laughed.

"Chang Zhan, are you joining or not? We finally came out to relax. Can you stop carrying around your precious math workbook?"

The young man who had been buried in his exercises lifted his head.

Chang Zhan glanced at them coldly.

"No."

Then he frowned slightly.

"And don't go too far. If people don't want to, then stop forcing them."

"If you're really bored, do your homework."

The three of them immediately felt bored.

Those test papers were ridiculously easy for them.

Usually, they simply dumped their tedious assignments onto people beneath them and never wasted time on such things.

Yet among them, there was this oddball—

Chang Zhan.

He insisted on doing his own homework and devoted an absurd amount of time to it. Especially mathematics. He even carried his math workbook with him every day.

"Forget it, forget it."

Zuo Ran waved his hand in resignation.

"If you don't want to join, then don't."

"We're definitely not doing homework."
