Chapter 880: The Young Empress (17)

Xiao Jin's first reaction was:

To hell with being a Secondary Consort.

“Thank you, Your Majesty.”

After recovering from her shock, Tang Nuoyue immediately revealed a sweet, innocent smile.

Hahahaha...

Wasn't Xiao Jin always so lofty and proud?

He had grown up in a society ruled by men. Deep down, he could never tolerate being married into a woman's household.

But right now, he was pretending to be deeply devoted to her.

And she was acting as though she liked him very much as well.

Since the Empress had proposed it, of course she had to accept happily.

At this stage, none of them had yet planted the idea that the Empress might want to harm her.

Her fear of the Empress was simply a natural reaction.

But now that the Empress was personally granting them a marriage, she was genuinely delighted.

Even if Xiao Jin was a prince from another kingdom, he was still merely a discarded prince who had lost a political struggle.

Being made a Secondary Consort was already elevating his status.

Unfortunately, Xiao Jin didn't see it that way.

He was still hoping to borrow the power of Western Saint Kingdom to restore his own position.

The people of Qi Kingdom had sent him here for one reason only:

To humiliate him.

They knew perfectly well that Western Saint Kingdom was ruled by women.

Here, men occupied a position much like women did in Qi Kingdom.

Men married women.

Women could take multiple husbands.

Now that the Empress had granted this marriage, his current circumstances left him with no choice but to accept.

Had Tang Nuoyue shown even the slightest hesitation, he might have found a way to escape.

But she had accepted so enthusiastically that he was completely trapped.

“Seeing the Moon Prince so happy pleases me as well.”

Tang Guo smiled faintly.

“As for the wedding date, the Moon Prince may choose it herself.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Tang Nuoyue hurriedly bowed.

The Empress was wonderful.

She understood exactly what Tang Nuoyue wanted.

The Empress was truly adorable.

To think she had come up with the idea of granting them a marriage.

Even if it had merely been a passing whim, Tang Nuoyue had absolutely no intention of refusing.

These men had plotted against her.

Yet she had genuinely loved them once.

Now that she had another chance, she intended to take revenge.

But she didn't mind remaining close to them either.

Honestly, she thought it would be quite satisfying to make every one of them share her bed at least once.

The difference was that she would never give them her heart again.

Since she lived in a nation where women ruled, she might as well embrace the local customs and enjoy the privileges of a female-dominated world.

As she thought this, Tang Nuoyue glanced sideways at Xiao Jin's dark expression.

“Does the Sixth Prince have any objections?”

Tang Guo suddenly asked.

Xiao Jin immediately forced a smile onto his face.

Inside, he was furious.

Outside, he appeared cheerful.

“Not at all.”

“Xiao Jin is simply very happy.”

“I never expected to receive a marriage bestowed by Your Majesty and to be able to stand openly beside the Prince.”

“I see.”

Tang Guo nodded.

“Now that the Moon Prince has recovered, I should mention something.”

“The late Empress repeatedly instructed me to take good care of the Moon Prince.”

“She is my elder sister.”

“She has already lost many things in life, so naturally I wish to fulfill some of her small wishes.”

“You two clearly care for one another. How could I refuse to help such a beautiful union?”

Tang Nuoyue's eyes brightened.

Exactly.

They were sisters.

Of course sisters should care for one another.

How adorable.

The Empress was actually her little sister.

Of course, they couldn't become too close yet.

Xiao Jin would grow suspicious.

The Empress might become suspicious as well.

Tang Nuoyue had no intention of falling out with her Empress sister or causing her dissatisfaction.

“Moon Prince.”

Tang Guo continued.

“Now that you've recovered, is there anything else you desire?”

“This subject desires nothing more.”

Tang Nuoyue glanced shyly at Xiao Jin.

A blush appeared on her face.

“Receiving Your Majesty's blessing for our marriage today is already more than enough. This subject is deeply grateful.”

Xiao Jin was on the verge of exploding.

“Then have you thought of an auspicious wedding date?”

“I'll look through the calendar after I return.”

Inwardly, Tang Nuoyue was thinking:

The sooner, the better.

Tang Guo nodded.

“Very well.”

When they finally left the palace, Tang Nuoyue was practically overflowing with happiness.

Meanwhile, Xiao Jin could only force the corners of his mouth upward and pretend to share her joy.

To avoid suspicion, he had no choice but to smile along with her.

Inside, however, he had already cursed countless times.
