Chapter 849: The Psychic Master 13
Seeing Tang Wan’s skeptical look, the system quickly straightened and spoke in a serious tone.
“Points can be used to redeem upgrade opportunities for me! Host, do you know how much the upgrade package you gave me is worth in the system store? It costs one hundred million points!”
As it spoke, it pulled up the listing, displaying the exact price.
Tang Wan glanced at it—
And was instantly blinded by the long string of zeros.
“…What the hell?” she muttered.
Since when was that thing so expensive?
Seeing her stunned expression, the system chuckled awkwardly. “Now you understand why I was so excited, right?”
“Hmph. You really got lucky,” Tang Wan said flatly.
“Hehe… all thanks to you, Host!” it replied quickly.
Then she narrowed her eyes slightly. “So how many points do you need for your next upgrade?”
The system’s bright expression immediately fell.
With a hint of reluctance, it opened its upgrade panel and showed her.
“One… billion.”
Tang Wan stared at it.
“…A billion?” she repeated. “Is this main system robbing people? With that many points, are you expecting me to save up until the end of time?”
After all, she only needed one million points to revive herself.
And now this system expected a thousand times that amount just for another upgrade?
The system scratched its head sheepishly but still said earnestly, “I know it’s a lot, but a system that doesn’t strive to improve isn’t a good system! Don’t you humans always say that dreams are necessary? What if they come true? I want to have a dream too!”
Tang Wan fell silent.
…This system was surprisingly idealistic.
Then she snorted lightly. “With numbers like that, you’re definitely not achieving it on your own. You might as well rely on me getting lucky again and handing you another upgrade package.”
The system’s eyes lit up instantly.
“That makes sense! Host, I’m so lucky to have you!”
No wonder others always said choosing the right host was everything.
From now on, it wouldn’t dare act arrogant in front of her again.
Tang Wan was clearly its lifeline.
“Alright, enough flattery,” Tang Wan said, cutting it off. “Give me the function to clear the blood clot in his brain. I want Tongtong’s memory restored as soon as possible.”
“Yes, Host! Please wait a moment!” the system replied quickly.
After a brief pause, it instructed, “Host, place your hand over the area where the blood clot is located.”
“Got it.”
Tang Wan responded and turned toward He Tongyang. When he looked up at her, she gave him a gentle smile before reaching out toward his head.
He Tongyang liked her touch.
The moment he saw her gesture, he obediently sat still, waiting for her hand to land.
A few moments later, the system’s voice sounded again.
“It’s done, Host. The congestion in his brain has been cleared. By tomorrow, he should return to normal.”
“That’s good,” Tang Wan said, letting out a quiet breath of relief.
She gently rubbed his head a few more times before withdrawing her hand.
Seeing her pull away, He Tongyang’s expression immediately showed a trace of reluctance.
Why had she stopped?
He liked it when she touched him.
But at the same time, after her touch, his mind felt clearer—lighter, somehow.
As if something inside him had quietly begun to change.
