Chapter 842: The Psychic Master 6

For a moment, Old Master He stood frozen. Then, as if suddenly realizing something, he hurriedly turned toward the sofa and spoke with utmost respect.

“Old Ancestor, I was mistaken just now and treated you as my wife. Please don’t take offense!”

Tang Wan merely gave a faint nod in his direction.

Seeing this, He Tongyang immediately relayed obediently, “Grandpa, Wanwan says she forgives you.”

Only then did Old Master He finally breathe a sigh of relief.

After composing himself, he looked at He Tongyang again and said, “Tongyang, since she is our ancestor, you should address her properly as well. You should call her ‘Grandmother.’”

That earlier misunderstanding had nearly given him a scare—he had truly thought his late wife’s spirit had returned.

He Tongyang frowned slightly, his expression conflicted. “But… she told me to call her Wanwan. She didn’t let me call her ‘Grandmother.’”

As he spoke, he turned his gaze toward Tang Wan, seeking confirmation. “Right, Wanwan?”

Tang Wan nodded without hesitation, her tone warm with approval. “That’s right. Tong Tong is very smart.”

At her praise, He Tongyang’s face lit up with a small but genuine smile.

At the same time, his favorability toward her rose slightly.

However, due to the original owner’s constant attempts to frighten him, his initial impression of her had been extremely poor. Even with the increase, it had only just reached neutral.

Tang Wan didn’t mind.

With her current identity, she could remain by his side every day. Given enough time, his attitude would naturally change.

Meanwhile, Doctor Huang stood nearby, watching He Tongyang smile and speak to what appeared to be empty air. A chill crept up his spine, and he instinctively rubbed his arms.

This was too unsettling.

At that moment, he suddenly felt that examining the boy might not be such a good idea. What if the He family’s so-called ancestor truly existed… and took offense at his actions?

Still, under the watchful presence of the He family, he had no choice but to proceed.

Clearing his throat, he asked cautiously, “Old Master He… shall we begin the examination?”

Old Master He nodded. “Yes.”

Then, turning once more toward Tang Wan’s direction, he said respectfully, “Old Ancestor, please watch over Tongyang. He is now the most gifted psychic of our He family.”

Tang Wan resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

Even so, she still spoke gently to He Tongyang, “Don’t be afraid, Tongtong. The doctor won’t give you an injection for now—he’s just going to check your body.”

He Tongyang hesitated for a moment before nodding reluctantly. “Okay…”

With that, Doctor Huang began his examination.

After a thorough check, he finally let out a breath of relief. “From the results, there is still a blood clot at the back of his brain. It’s pressing against the neural tissue, which is why he’s experiencing memory loss. Once the clot dissipates, his condition should return to normal.”

Hearing this, Old Master He’s tense expression eased.

“How long will it take for the blood clot to disappear?” he asked quickly.

Doctor Huang thought for a moment before answering, “At the earliest, about a month. At the longest, perhaps a year. This isn’t something that can be rushed. Surgical intervention could carry significant risks and may not yield a better outcome.”

Old Master He nodded solemnly. “I understand. Thank you, Doctor Huang.”

“It’s my duty,” Doctor Huang replied.

Even as he spoke, his eyes couldn’t help drifting once more toward the sofa where He Tongyang had pointed earlier—though, of course, he saw nothing.

Tang Wan noticed his repeated glances and couldn’t help but twitch her lips.

You can’t even see me. What are you staring at?

And yet… being secretly watched like this—hidden in plain sight—was, oddly enough, a rather novel experience.
