From what Tang Wan had revealed, her former agent had clearly been operating behind her back for quite some time. Someone like that would never quietly accept being cut off. If left alone, he would inevitably cause trouble again. Shang Baitong’s gaze darkened slightly as he made a silent decision that this hidden danger needed to be dealt with sooner rather than later.

The two returned to the residential complex together. As the car stopped at the entrance, Tang Wan turned to him with a bright smile and said she would head home first and come back later to cook for him. The moment he heard the word “cook,” Shang Baitong felt an almost imperceptible tightening in his stomach, but his expression remained perfectly composed. He simply nodded and said he would wait for her.

Tang Wan waved lightly, brushed back her long hair, and stepped out of the car, her figure graceful as she walked toward her house. Shang Baitong watched her until she disappeared from sight, his gaze lingering a moment longer than necessary before he finally instructed the driver to head back.

At the Tang residence, Tang Wan had barely stepped inside when her parents hurried forward, their faces filled with concern. They had already heard about her contract termination and immediately began asking what had happened.

Her father was puzzled, asking why she had not informed him beforehand so he could make arrangements, while her mother looked at her with equal curiosity.

Both parents froze, their eyes widening in unison before they eagerly asked whether she was already in a relationship.

She shook her head lightly and clarified that he was not officially her boyfriend yet, but she had joined his studio precisely because she intended to pursue him. She added confidently that within a year, she would definitely bring him home.

The moment she mentioned the name, both of her parents reacted instantly, recognizing Shang Baitong without hesitation.

Their surprise quickly turned into approval. Her father nodded thoughtfully, remarking that Shang Baitong had a good reputation in the industry, while her mother became visibly excited, praising him without restraint and urging Tang Wan to make sure she succeeded in winning him over.

After returning upstairs to freshen up, she informed them that she was heading out again. Her mother immediately reminded her to bring Shang Baitong home as soon as possible, her tone leaving no room for refusal.
