Chapter 577:The Lonely Top Student 40

Hearing the interaction between Jiao Tong and Tang Wan, Wen Chuan clutched his chest dramatically.

Ahhh… I’m jealous!

He stared longingly at the orange juice in Lin Ran’s hand.

I want to feed my girlfriend too!

Lin Ran felt his burning gaze and her hand trembled slightly.

Avoiding his eyes, she quickly inserted a straw and took a sip.

Seeing this, Wen Chuan had no choice but to look away, a little disappointed.

But soon, he pumped himself up internally:

One day, I’ll be able to feed her openly too! Come on, Wen Chuan—keep chasing!

Soon, the dishes were served.

The food was delicious, but Tang Wan and Jiao Tong had already eaten, so they only picked at it lightly.

Well—Jiao Tong picked at it.

Tang Wan didn’t even lift her chopsticks.

She simply opened her mouth and let him feed her the entire time.

Wen Chuan, already sour, couldn’t help glaring at Jiao Tong.

Then he carefully placed some food into Lin Ran’s bowl.

“Ran Ran, eat more! Girls should be a bit chubbier—it’s cuter!”

“Mm,” Lin Ran replied softly, lowering her head to eat.

Tang Wan’s lips twitched slightly.

This is… unexpectedly harmonious.

Who would’ve thought she’d one day sit at the same table as the heroine, peacefully eating—and even showing off affection in front of them?

Honestly… it feels pretty great.

At least this way, Lin Ran should realize who she ought to like.

Tang Wan had no intention of breaking up the main couple—she just wanted Lin Ran to stop fixating on Jiao Tong.

After the meal, Wen Chuan went to pay.

At the restaurant entrance, the four parted ways.

“Wan Wan and I are going shopping,” Jiao Tong said.

Wen Chuan nodded immediately. “Alright. I’m taking Ran Ran to a movie. See you!”

Soon, the two pairs split off, each going their own way.

After separating, Tang Wan and Jiao Tong wandered through the mall and later watched a movie together, leisurely passing the time.

They had no idea—

Back at the Jiao residence, everything had already erupted into chaos.

The reason?

When Jiao’s mother went to the shrine to burn incense for Jiao Chun, she discovered that the jade tablet representing his soul… had shattered.

Bringing the dead back to life by occupying another body was already an act against the heavens.

The Jiao family’s third uncle had warned long ago:

If the jade tablet remained intact for seven years, it meant Jiao Chun had fully merged with the body.

But if it broke within those seven years—

It meant either Jiao Tong’s soul had overpowered him and expelled him…

Or Jiao Chun had met with disaster and was completely gone.

Seeing the shattered jade tablet, Jiao’s mother instantly lost control.

She screamed, her hands trembling as she grabbed her phone and called Jiao Tong.

But at that moment, he was in the cinema with Tang Wan—his phone on silent.

No answer.

She called again.

Still nothing.

Panic consumed her.

Her mind immediately jumped to the worst conclusion—

Something has happened to Chunchun again!

Crying, she dialed Father Jiao and the third uncle.

“It’s bad! Chunchun’s jade tablet is broken!” she sobbed hysterically. “Third Uncle, please—save my Chunchun! I beg you!”

How could her son—who had only just returned to life—face disaster again so soon?
