Chapter 574:The Lonely Top Student 37

Tang Wan had no idea that Jiao’s mother had completely misunderstood the situation.

At this moment, she saw Jiao Chun’s soul burst out of Jiao Tong’s body like a wisp of smoke—and then charge straight toward him.

Seeing this, Tang Wan immediately slapped at it.

Of course… she missed.

Jiao Chun sneered viciously. “Hmph! Both of you will die tonight!”

Inside Jiao Tong’s body, he had been suppressed all along.

But tonight was different.

It was the Ghost Festival—his power had surged. As long as he killed Jiao Tong, he could seize the body and return to life!

Watching him rush forward more and more frantically, Tang Wan’s heart sank.

Wait… does my destructive ability not work on ghosts?!

Why did this thing feel even stronger now?

Without hesitation, she rushed toward Jiao Tong.

“Tongtong, be careful!”

At this point, Jiao Tong was almost at his limit.

But after Jiao Chun separated from him, he actually felt lighter than ever.

Seeing Tang Wan run toward him, he quickly pulled her into his arms.

“Wan Wan! Did you get hurt?”

“I’m fine! But he wants to kill you!” Tang Wan said coldly.

Then she stepped in front of him.

Just as she was preparing for the worst—

A sudden gust of yin wind blew in through the balcony.

The next second, under Little Cutie’s scan, Tang Wan saw an even darker, more terrifying black mass surge into the room.

“—What the hell is that?!” she asked sharply.

Compared to this thing, Jiao Chun’s soul was nothing.

“Host… that might be a Ghost King…” Little Cutie said uncertainly. “But don’t worry—your soul and the villain’s are strong. It shouldn’t affect you.”

“That’s good…” Tang Wan let out a breath.

In the next moment, the black mass condensed into a skull-like form.

Like a whale swallowing the sea, it opened wide—

And sucked Jiao Chun’s soul straight into its mouth.

Then, as if casually, it glanced once at Tang Wan and Jiao Tong…

Before disappearing out through the balcony just as suddenly.

Tang Wan blinked.

Then exhaled slowly.

When she came back to her senses, she realized Jiao Tong was still holding her tightly, his arms wrapped firmly around her waist.

Her lips curled slightly.

“Tongtong, it’s okay now! Jiao Chun’s soul… I beat it to death!” she said with a straight face.

(Please don’t let that Ghost King come back to argue about this…)

Jiao Tong looked at her deeply.

Then pulled her down onto the bed with him.

“As long as it’s gone… that’s enough.”

From today onward, he finally didn’t have to live in fear anymore.

Tang Wan was about to get up—

But Jiao Tong tightened his arms.

“Don’t move. Let me hold you for a while.”

“…Okay,” she replied softly.

She leaned quietly in his arms.

Only after his breathing gradually steadied did she carefully slip out, reaching over to tuck him in.

The next morning.

When Tang Wan and Jiao Tong came out, Jiao’s mother was already up.

Seeing the two of them together, her smile grew even wider.

“You’re up? Come eat!”

Then she handed a glass of water to Jiao Tong.

“Chunchun, drink this.”

Jiao Tong glanced at the glass and sneered inwardly.

Then he picked it up and drank it in one go.

Every year after the Ghost Festival, Jiao’s mother would prepare this “special water” for him.

Too bad…

She didn’t know that her precious son no longer had any chance of “coming back” this time.
