Chapter 548:The Lonely Top Student 11
Thinking of this possibility, Jiao Tong suddenly felt he might have misunderstood Tang Wan.
If what she said was
true, and he had assumed she was just using tricks to get close to him… that
would be unfair.
“Thanks, I
understand,” he said calmly to the girl in front of him, then lowered his head
and continued reading.
At the same time—
“Dip! Villain
favorability +10. Current favorability: 40,” Little Cutie reported.
Tang Wan raised an
eyebrow. “What happened? Why did it suddenly jump by ten?”
Little Cutie shrugged.
“No idea. Who knows what goes on in the villain’s head.”
“Forget it. As long as
it goes up, it’s fine. Show me the soul-repair fluid—what does it look like?”
Little Cutie
immediately displayed a small vial—clear liquid, barely 10 mL.
Seeing it, Tang Wan
quickly formed a plan.
At noon, school ended
at 11:40 as usual. Students rushed toward the cafeteria, but Tang Wan headed to
the canteen instead and bought a 350 mL bottle of mineral water.
She unscrewed it,
poured some out, then carefully added the soul-repair fluid.
After that, she walked
toward the rooftop.
When she arrived, Jiao
Tong was already there waiting.
“Tongtong, you’re
early!” she greeted with a smile.
“Mm.” He nodded
faintly. “What do we do now?”
Tang Wan checked the
time on her phone—through her gloves—then said, “Wait two more minutes until
noon. Then drink this. I’ve… blessed it. Took a lot of effort.”
Jiao Tong looked at
her skeptically. “There’s nothing strange in it, right?”
Tang Wan immediately
put on a hurt expression. “Tongtong, that really wounds me. I exhausted my
energy for you, and you still doubt me?”
He paused, then said
awkwardly, “I’ll drink it.”
After a moment, he
added, “You… won’t be affected, right?”
He knew enough about
such things to understand—if a “celestial master” exhausted their power,
recovery wouldn’t be quick.
And yet she had done
it for him.
Tang Wan shook her
head lightly. “It’s fine. As long as I can help you, it’s worth it. I’ll just
rest afterward.”
Jiao Tong’s lips
pressed together slightly. “Is there no faster way for you to recover?”
“Yes!” Tang Wan’s eyes
brightened immediately.
She smiled at him.
“Didn’t I say? You need me—but I need you too. Staying by your side helps me
recover faster. It’s mutually beneficial.”
Jiao Tong felt
something loosen in his chest. “…I understand.”
Soon, the clock struck
twelve.
Tang Wan handed him
the bottle. “Time’s up. Drink it.”
“Okay.”
Jiao Tong took the
water and drank it in one go.
For some reason, it
tasted… unusually sweet.
Whether it was
psychological or not, he couldn’t tell.
But at that moment, he
found himself believing Tang Wan just a little more.
