Chapter 531:#007 the Killer King 31
Hearing Hei Tong’s words, Tang Wan showed a surprised expression. “Really?”
“Most likely,” Hei
Tong replied. “So you can’t stay here anymore. I’ll take you away.”
He grabbed her arm and
started toward the door.
Tang Wan’s lips
twitched slightly.
In the next moment,
she pulled him back. “Tong Tong, I can’t go.”
Hei Tong paused and
turned to stare at her. “Why not?”
“If I leave, won’t
they blame everything on you? Then what will you do? Don’t think I don’t
know—if you’re labeled a traitor, you’ll be hunted down,” Tang Wan said softly.
“I won’t put you in
danger,” she added firmly.
The moment those words
left her mouth, Hei Tong felt as if something had struck his heart.
“Wanwan… I’m not
afraid of danger. As long as you’re safe…” He stepped forward and pulled her
tightly into his arms.
She’s thinking of
me even now…
If I can’t even
protect her, what right do I have to accept her feelings?
Tang Wan gently hugged
him back. “Don’t worry, Tong Tong. You forgot? I’m very smart. They won’t let
anything happen to me. At worst, they’ll just draw more blood.”
Then she continued
softly, “But you mustn’t do anything reckless. Don’t forget… you belong to the
organization. You can’t betray it.”
Her words sounded like
a reminder of loyalty.
But in reality, she
was planting a question in his heart.
If one day, you
have to choose between me and the organization… what will you choose?
Hei Tong had been
raised by Jinkela, modified by them, and conditioned to be loyal.
Betrayal wasn’t
something he could easily accept.
So she had to make him
face that conflict—slowly, step by step.
Only then could she
pull him away.
Hei Tong fell silent,
his thoughts tangled.
After a long moment,
he said, “I’ll go ask Dr. Kara directly what experiment they’re planning. I
have the authority to know.”
He released her. “Wait
for me here.”
“Okay.” Tang Wan
nodded obediently.
She watched him leave
the room.
When Hei Tong found
Dr. Kara, he was discussing the cloning project with Dr. Ha.
The moment Dr. Ha saw
Hei Tong, he recognized him—it was the man who had brought him here.
But Hei Tong didn’t
spare him a glance. His gaze was fixed on Dr. Kara.
“What experiment are
you planning for Tang Wan?” he asked coldly.
Dr. Kara was slightly
surprised. Hei Tong rarely showed interest in their research unless necessary.
Still, he had
clearance.
Dr. Kara handed him a
document. “This. Dr. Ha and I plan to clone Tang Wan’s genes—using her as the
base to cultivate more superhumans.”
Hei Tong’s expression
darkened.
He knew exactly what
that implied.
His voice turned icy.
“So… you’re going to dissect her?”
