Chapter 523:#007 the Killer King 23
Seeing the helicopter lifting off with their targets, the pursuing group rushed onto the balcony and opened fire wildly.
Thinking of Tang Wan’s
injuries, Hei Tong grabbed a long cylindrical weapon, aimed it at the balcony,
and pressed the switch.
Boom!
A fist-sized
projectile shot out and exploded midair, forcing the group back in shock.
Only then did the
tension in Hei Tong’s chest ease slightly.
He tossed the weapon
aside and turned to Tang Wan. “Switch to autopilot. I’ll check your wounds
first.”
“Mm.” Tang Wan smiled
at him.
Seeing her still
smiling in this state, something in Hei Tong’s chest tightened painfully.
She’s like this…
and she can still smile. How can she be so foolish…
He stepped closer and
carefully lifted the hem of her bloodstained white skirt.
When he saw the three
or four bullet marks, his expression darkened even further.
Tang Wan immediately
said, “Tong Tong, don’t worry. I have a high pain tolerance—I don’t really feel
anything.”
She put on a brave
front.
Hei Tong looked at her
steadily. “According to Dr. Kara’s data, your pain sensitivity is ten times
that of a normal person.”
Which meant that what
felt like a needle prick to him would feel dozens of times worse to her.
In other words, the
pain she was enduring now was likely far beyond anything he had ever
experienced.
Tang Wan smiled slyly.
“You knew that?”
“What are you trying
to say?” Hei Tong replied coldly.
The next moment, he
pulled out a medical kit and began preparing the tools. “I’ll give you
anesthesia first—”
“But Dr. Kara said
that would affect my brain’s responsiveness,” Tang Wan said.
“So what? You’re mine
now. He doesn’t get a say,” Hei Tong said firmly.
“Oh.” Tang Wan’s eyes
curved into a smile.
Only then did Hei Tong
realize what he had just said. His body stiffened slightly.
But he quickly
composed himself and began treating her wounds.
After finishing, Dr.
Ha, who had been sitting quietly to the side, finally spoke up nervously. “Um…
where exactly are you taking me?”
Hei Tong responded
with a cold, deadly glare.
If it weren’t for this
man, Tang Wan wouldn’t have been injured.
Startled, Dr. Ha
immediately shut his mouth and shrank back into his seat.
This man… doesn’t
look like he’s protecting me at all. He looks like he wants to kill me…
Tang Wan spoke weakly,
“You’ll know soon. Don’t worry—it won’t cost you your life.”
Freedom, though…
that’s another matter.
Dr. Ha let out a
breath of relief. “That’s good…”
Two hours later, the
helicopter landed at another base.
After getting off, Hei
Tong said coldly to the other Jinkela members, “Send him to Jin Dao.”
Then he carried Tang
Wan toward the villa and called for a professional doctor to treat her
injuries.
Only after everything
was handled did Hei Tong finally relax slightly.
He looked at Tang Wan,
his face cold. “Who told you to stand in front of me like that? Don’t ever do
it again.”
Tang Wan blinked, her
eyes quickly filling with tears as she looked at him in grievance. “I… I was
just afraid you’d die… and you’re still scolding me…”
Hei Tong stiffened.
In the next moment, he
clenched his fists, forcing his tone to soften. “I’m not scolding you. Your
life is more important. Nothing must happen to you—”
“But to me, your life
is the most important!” Tang Wan interrupted, her voice rising.
Hei Tong’s heart
trembled violently.
