Chapter 500:The Pure-Clad Dark Heir 50
However, what Tang Wan never expected in her wildest dreams was how this world would end.
They were crushed to
death by a falling beam.
That’s right.
Just as Tang Wan and
Jiang Yuantong had knelt to pay respect to the emperor, a massive beam from the
palace ceiling suddenly snapped and came crashing down—directly onto both of
them.
The beams used in
palace construction were made of the finest, heaviest timber—thick, solid, and
impossibly heavy.
With a dull bang,
their heads were struck instantly.
Blood blossomed.
Their bodies went
limp.
And they collapsed to
the ground together.
The emperor froze on
the spot.
Then, as if struck by
lightning, he staggered backward into his chair and shouted in panic,
“Guards! Guards! Someone come!”
Every day, he reviewed
memorials in this very imperial study.
If not for the Lin
couple kneeling there today…
the one crushed to
death would have been him.
…
After leaving the
mission world, Tang Wan exploded.
“Damn it! What kind of
ridiculous ending is that?!”
“Crushed by a beam?
Seriously?!”
“That is the palace!
The safest place in the entire world! And this happens?!”
Little Cutie put on a
composed, almost philosophical tone.
“Host, as they say—when the King of Hell calls you at the third watch, you
won’t survive to the fifth. Besides, you’ve died so many times already. You
should be used to it.”
Tang Wan swung at him.
Of course, she hit
nothing.
“Heh. I may be used to
dying,” she said coldly, “but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to die like that.”
She had planned it
carefully.
She wanted a slow
death—one where she could finally speak properly with Jiang Yuantong after he
regained all his memories.
Not this absurd
instant smash ending.
Not even a chance to
say a word.
Seeing her
frustration, Little Cutie shrank back slightly.
“Well… there will be plenty of chances in the future, right? No need to rush…”
Tang Wan took a deep
breath, suppressing the urge to tear something apart.
“Fine. Send me to the
next world.”
“Yes, host!”
After a moment, the
settlement was completed, and her emotional ties to that world were stripped
away.
Little Cutie rubbed
his hands eagerly and brought up the lottery wheel.
“Host, want to draw?”
Tang Wan’s expression
had already calmed.
Thinking about her
previous luck, she nodded.
“Draw.”
The wheel spun.
Then—
a golden light fell.
“Ding!
Congratulations, host, for obtaining an SSR card. When used, even if the
mission fails or violates system rules, no points will be deducted and no
punishment will be applied.”
Tang Wan’s eyes lit
up.
Now that was
useful.
With this, even if she
directly eliminated the male and female leads, she wouldn’t have to worry about
the system’s harshest penalties.
She put the card away
with satisfaction.
Little Cutie stared at
her with a complicated expression.
“Host… I’m seriously
starting to suspect you’re the main system’s biological daughter.”
“How many times has it
been? Even with max luck, getting SSR every time is ridiculous!”
“I’ve talked to other
systems—some hosts don’t even get one SSR in a hundred draws!”
He paused, then
muttered:
“And here you are…
pulling them like it’s nothing…”

Translator’s Note
And just like that, we’ve reached the end of another arc! 🎉
More importantly, this is Arc 10 and Chapter 500. Two milestones at once! Honestly, 500 chapters went by a lot faster than I expected. I only started working on this novel less than ten days ago, so seeing that number already feels a little ridiculous. 😂
I do sometimes wonder if anyone is actually reading this far. I can see from the stats that there are definitely people dropping by, which is really nice, even if I have no idea who you all are. So, to everyone who's been following along—thank you! I hope that by the time we eventually reach the end of this very, very long journey, a few more people will have discovered this novel too.
As for the current update speed: I've been updating very quickly because I happen to have a bit of free time at the moment (or so I tell myself while I procrastinate *don't look at me like that incomplete reports!*), and, well... there's also that extra burst of energy you get when you start something new😅 Right now, I'm trying to get through roughly one arc a day, which is why the chapters have been coming out so fast.
I’ll do my best to keep things consistent, but if life gets busier later on, the pace may slow down a little. My goal is to keep up at least 10–20 chapters a day whenever possible. So if you're used to seeing an entire arc appear in a day and suddenly find yourself thinking, “Wait... why is this taking so long?”—that's probably why. 😂
Anyway, 500 chapters down, and a little over 2,000 to go! Here's to the next milestone. 🥂
How has everyone been doing, by the way? I hope you're all having a good day—and I hope you're enjoying the novel so far!

A Sad Little Translator's Extra Note
Well... apparently I posted too many chapters yesterday and Blogger decided I was a suspicious little bot. 😂
I mean, I did post one entire arc of this novel (about 50 chapters) and finished another arc of my other novel (a little over 70 chapters), but I genuinely had no idea Blogger had limits on how many posts you could make in a day. 😭
So, for the moment, Blogger has decided that I am not allowed to make any more posts. Very rude.
I'm currently trying to figure out the best way to deal with this so I can keep the translation moving at the pace I'd like. Because of that, things might be a little strange over the next few days. You might suddenly see a gap in updates, or the update speed might change for a bit while I figure things out.
If any of you little angels reading this happen to know Blogger well—or have dealt with this sort of posting limit before—please give me some advice! If there's a tried-and-true way to schedule or organize a large number of posts without getting thrown into Blogger timeout, especially on days when I actually have the free time to put out a whole bunch of chapters, I would very much appreciate knowing about it. It might save me from having to learn everything through trial and error. 😂
Hopefully I can find a way to keep the current pace without Blogger throwing me into time-out again. If not, I'll just have to work within whatever limits it gives me.
So... please bear with me for a little while! I'll let you know once I figure out what works.
And yes, I am still very much here. I have not abandoned you😭
